I remember it causing problems, does it still persist ? Should i turn it on ? Heard it improves %1 lows in various games especially when cpu bottlenecked.

it's enabled by default. it does a tiny little bit for performance and has at least from my side no known issues across at least 15 systems.
yes... keep it enabled.

I was diagnosing a weird memory commit run away problem (might make a thread on it later) that I have been having since upgrading windows, so as an experiment I disable HAGS to see if would fix it, it didnt but I noticed a notable drop off in the game, certain things started lagging when scrolling around the map for instance, so am deffo turning HAGS back on.

Its good Microsoft added a flip mode toggle to Windows 11 and shame they not backported the toggle to 10, anyone who has ever heard of the custom SpecialK driver, one of its biggest features is it can enable flip mode for various games (mostly badly ported JRPG's).

The normal game mode I dont think does much now days, Microsoft toned it down after lots of complaints.

It is fine currently. Unless you have a need to change those settings, leave them as they are.

??? Turn it on and find out for yourself! It make no sense at all, even for Microsoft, to "keep" a mode or feature that, when enabled, "causes problems" for everyone. This is especially true if it adds no value, particularly "marketing value" for them. So they generally don't do it. And that is the case here.

The facts are, reports of it "causing problems" are greatly exaggerated. What has been reported, and verified true, is performance gains provided by [the typically enabled by default] gaming mode have been negligible or marginal at best - and only with some games.

The ONLY way to see if gaming mode improves performance on "your" computer with "your" games is to try it and see. Then post back and report your findings to us. Just make sure your System Specs are current so we know what hardware you are using, and also tell us which games you tried it on.
