My mate bought a prebuilt about 2 years ago and one reason I told him to go for it was that it was advertised to have an RM750x power supply. While I was helping him put a new AIO in today I found out it actually has a Silverstone DA850 80+ Gold. He has an i9-9900KF but hasn't applied any overclocks, and an RTX 3070. Board is an Msi Z390m Mortar.

He has the money to replace it if it is a worrying unit, but if it's good quality I'll leave it in his build.

If I was expecting a RM750x and got a SilverStone DA850 instead, I would probably be happy, despite the shorter warranty. But that's me.

To answer your question, yes, the SilverStone is a good PSU.

I've had several Silverstone PSU's over last 7 yrs & all have performed reliably in OC rigs (Gold & Titanium grade) . The only one that died on me & because of the on/off switch next to the mains power plug failing, not because of the actual unit itself, that was a 750W gold rated edition unit that went for a few yrs every day.

I have a "bad" habit of turning everything off including the wall plug mains outlet when the PCs are not in use so I think flicking the switch on the back of that failed PSU unit wore it out prematurely.
