Ok so i'm after a really old driver, I need to get the S-video out, working on this, so far the most i've come up with is windows own drivers (on xp) but when using the S-video (with and without vga) i get as far as the windows xp loading screen with the black background and the blue loading bar. any idea's or suggestions?

That happens when your VGA card doesn't support the resolution of the OS, lower it to 800x600 or 640x480 and your monitor must show the OS interface.

EDIT: maybe the drivers of XP are outdated or doesn't activate all the features of your card, search and reinstall the driver with the latest one.

Can't find any drivers, and already had the resolution 640 x 480.

I've used S-Video before and had no problems which makes me tink it's just a driver issue? if so i could really do with some help finding one for XP.

Ok, find the driver but only supports Win 2000 and below and readed some posts that It doesn't work under Win XP.

I owned a Scanner that doesn't support Win XP, and can't make it work with any drivers. This mostly happens when using ancient HW that was created before XP, and today It exist many HW that doesn't support Vista.....It's a shame but I think youir VGA only will work under Win 2000 and below, not much you can do about it.

like you said, it might be driver problem... but if it didn't happen before, then just rollback your drivers?

It's strange how it not even let me select the 460 x 480 resolution untill i've uninstalled the (windows) driver and restarted :S

I do have a win2000 disc somewhere, maybe it might be worth down grading my OS on that system, maybe i might even put widows 98 on it

... oh wait, i cant if i remember right can i? i have 2x 40Gb HDD's and FAT file system don't reckonise that much does it... or is that the limit, i can't remember for sure, lol.

I think I have drivers for that card at home.

I rebuilt a customers PC a few years back and had to get the XP drivers for the card to work.

I'll have a look and let you know.

Ok so basically the S-Video now works when windows drivers are uninstalled then system restarted. when it boots in 640 x 480 on my monitor aswel as the TV, but when drivers are installed it only lets me select from 800 x 600 & 1024 x 768 (1024 x 768 is the native resolution for the monitor (max resolution).
