Spoofer Modified SMBIOS/BIOS – Need Help Restoring Original Motherboard Info (TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WiFi II)

Hi everyone,

I'm having a serious issue with my PC. My brother installed a spoofer (probably to bypass anti-cheat systems), and it appears to have permanently modified my SMBIOS and motherboard information.

Even after formatting Windows, the spoofed values are still visible in the “System Information” window.

For example:

  • BaseBoard Manufacturer: SPACEX-12438-26797-Spoofer
  • BIOS Version: SPACEX-19380-Spoofer
  • System Model: SPACEX-92412-Spoofer
  • BIOS Mode: UEFI

These are clearly spoofed identifiers. The spoofing software has already been deleted, and I don’t know exactly which one was used.

My actual motherboard is:

ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WiFi II

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Full Windows clean installation (no effect)
  • CMOS reset (removed battery for 2 minutes)
  • Ran sfc /scannow and DISM (no issues found)
  • CPU-Z and HWiNFO also show the spoofed names

My suspicion:

The spoofer might have modified the SMBIOS region or DMI data in the BIOS/firmware, and these changes persist through OS reinstalls.

What I’m looking for:

  1. How can I restore the original motherboard information?
  2. Is there a way to rewrite the SMBIOS/DMI region, or should I reflash the BIOS?
  3. Could a tool like CH341A help in this situation?
  4. How risky is it to flash the BIOS using the official file from ASUS?

Any advice or instructions are welcome. I’m comfortable doing firmware updates or physical recovery if needed — I just want to get my system back to normal and avoid getting flagged by anti-cheats.

Thanks in advance!

Not needed.

You need an DMI editor:

i think uefi updates only overwrites part of the mainboard. it is not complete.

i doubt an uefi file from yuor mainboard maker will change much.

A very interesting topic to watch.

It only updates the part which are listed in the bios rom.
System serial number, base board serial number and UUID are not part of a bios rom by default since it should be unique.
