Hello guys, how are you? I have the same SSD, but it is the WD SN850X, I use it on an Asrock x570 Steel Legend motherboard, but in the Dashboard app in the “INTERFACE SPEED” part it shows

Interface speed

Capacity:
Gen4 (4 Tracks)

Connection:
Gen4 (2 Clues) instead of “(4 Clues)”

I also use the SN750se, and this shows

Interface speed

Capacity:
Gen4 (4 Tracks)

Connection:
Gen4 (4 Tracks)

Is correct.

This sn850x that I'm using is like this, and the speed also doesn't exceed 3600 mb/s

And I saw some videos of the same SSD operating at (4 Lanes) and the speed was almost 7000 mb/s.

What can it be?

I've already contacted Asrock, they gave me some procedures, and it didn't help anything, I continue with this "limitation"

did you try a different slot and visually checked if the slot or the ssd is either dirty or damaged?

Thanks for replying friend. Yes, the SSD is new, as is my motherboard. I've seen several reports about the same problem. I've done several procedures that Asrok support went through, but none of them solved, and WD has terrible service. I don't know if it's Asrock or WD's problem that didn't solve this problem, some update, I don't know. I'm thinking of returning that SSD and buying an XPG S70 BLADE

that's weird. i have four four SN850X (my boot drive right now is one too)
and it works just fine on all of my motherboards, including some X570s, B550, X670, B650E, Intel etc.

if the firmware and your bios is up to date i would probably do the same as you and return the SSD.

Yes my friend, I saw on a forum that this problem was "firmware update", others are missing that some WD SSDs are faulty or parallel. I'm thinking of getting the XPG S70 BLADE 1TB. Do you think it's worth it?

These two links that show the same SN850 issue on X570 motherboards

They will all perform very similar.
As long as the price is acceptable. Why not?

sure friend. Here in Brazil, the WD SN850X 1TB costs 850 RRL, equivalent to 162 dollars, and the XPG S70 Blade costs 123 dollars. And regarding support, WD responded to me as follows, as it is in Brazilian Portuguese, I will translate it for you.

Screenshot_20240531_220710_Outlook.jpg

"Thank you for contacting Western Digital Customer Service and Support. My name is Nykolas S.

I understand from your email that you noticed that the speeds of your WD_BLACK SN850x SSD are lower than expected.

I guarantee that I will do my best to address the problem.

Firstly, note that several X570 motherboards from different manufacturers have 2 M.2 ports, one dedicated to the Processor (CPU) and one shared with other motherboard components (PCH). The second M.2 port (PCH), as it is shared with other motherboard components, operates at a bandwidth of 128 bits, which is equivalent to a 3x4 port (using 2 SSD lanes), and WD_BLACK SSDs require 256-bit bandwidth to achieve maximum performance.

After identifying the problem, Western Digital released a firmware in July 2021 to resolve the issue.

To resolve the problem, please try the following steps:

1. Update the SSD firmware via WD Dashboard: https://support-pt.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/50855/initiator/user

2. Update your motherboard's BIOS, if you haven't already done so.

Let us know if the problem persists after following the instructions above."

My motherboard is already updated, and I've already updated the firmware to the latest version, and it's the same thing. I'm sending some screenshots of the SSD connected to the PC in the Dashboard app, and in the disk design app, and it is

PCIe 4.0 2 Lanes
PCIe 4.0 X2
