I'm doing a budget gaming rig for a close friend of mine and it will be his first gaming pc. I am a builder, seller, and parts deal king haha. I was just curios if anyone has tried manually setting this RAM kit to 2666Mhz or even 3000Mhz? I couldn't find anything when I Googled it except for the product listings on Amazon, etc. I would love to know what speed people have had luck with, if any, since I plan on pairing this with a Ryzen CPU and want the fastest speed I can that's stable. Thanks in advance. P.S. These prices lately are absolutely INSANE. I'm glad I stocked up every time I came across a good deal, even if I didn't necessarily need the parts for personal use or stock. I'm on a gold mine, but I refuse to raise my prices. we're computer guys. We should be working together and helping each other. Thanks. https://www.amazon.com/OLOy-2400Mhz...eywords=16gb+ddr4&qid=1616202111&sr=8-16&th=1

I've seen them mentioned a couple of times in these forums and those people say they do the job.
Personally I would try for Cas18 @2993 or there abouts depending on the CPU used, as AMD systems don't like uneven Cas latency.

Agreed. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it!

Did a post a few days ago asking if anyone had ran this kit at more than the 2400Mhz since I plan on using this in a budget Ryzen 3 2200G build for a friends very first gaming PC used just for Esports games. Then I realized the listing stated for Intel CPUs and mentioned nothing about AMD. I went on to read a review that was stating it would be great for a cheap Ryzen system, but I hardly ever trust or read the reviews on stuff now days. They either talk out their ass or rate 5 stars just for the product showing up haha and never actually test/use it before posting.

I think the big issue is going to be that AMD works better with even latencies. So you will probably have to drop the latency to 18, but that might not be that bad because it should give you some more headroom to bump up the clockspeed. OLOy sells very similar sticks running at 2666 CL18. So I would guess you have a pretty good chance of running those 2400 sticks at 2666 CL18.

I appreciate the response and good info. I'm hoping at least 2666Mhz. Obviously we all know Ryzen Zen1 loves them faster speeds around 3000Mhz to 3200Mhz. I have a ton of amazing kits on hand for builds, but prices have crept up. For his first build and the titles he's going to play, i don't believe it'll matter too much. He won't know the difference, but I will and it'll bother me. On the plus side, I'm big into getting components that aren't already in thousands of RIGs, putting them through the paces, and getting the best price performance available! They'll be here tomorrow from Amazon, along with all the other components except the CPU. That'll be the 31sthem. t. Got an ENTIRE set up for $654 after tax. Including a 24" 75Hz monitor and peripherals. Excited to test

I'm holding all my GPU stock and treating it like gold, so gonna add one down the line if prices ever come back down, stock actually show sup, and if he even needs it. He'll just be playing CSGO, maybe some Fortnite, Valorant, Paladins, etc.

Have you had a chance to test the RAM yet? I picked up a kit today just to play around with.

The kit and all of the other parts arrived Tuesday from Amazon, except for the CPU. I haven't started the build at all until the CPU comes on the 28th-31st. Since I usually install all the MoB stuff first before I put in the case. I did debate throwing it in one of my test systems with a 2700X just to play around with it, but I'm using that kit with a 2200G and wasn't sure I'd get an accurate interpretation for my application use since the 2200G is an APU and plan to use that for him for now. I'd love to know what you came up with though! So keep me posted.

The kit I ordered is supposed to be here the 28th. Though I'm putting it in an Intel system. The only AMD system I have available right now is my home's media server, and the wife beats me if I take it offline. My 2400G system uses SO-DIMM memory.

Well, I got my kit this afternoon and have been messing around with it for a couple hours. This RAM baffles me. It runs perfectly fine at the stock speed and timings and voltage, but any tweaking and the RAM gets super unstable. Even doing things that normally make RAM more stable, results in no boot conditions with this RAM. Even just raising the voltage causing the system to no longer boot. Raising the timings from 17 to 18 or 19 and the system won't boot. I couldn't even get this RAM to run at 2666.

I don’t have the specific set but I’ve been using Oloy RAM for at least 3 years now with no issues. All clock much higher than stated speeds as well

my current RAM is Oloy 3000 I have clocked at 3733MHz

I have several sets of Oloy RAM at this point, including a kit in my Ryzen 3700 rig. I've been able to clock them all higher, this is the first kit I've had that just wouldn't budge. And like I said, the strange part is even just loosening the timings, without raising the clock speed, still results in the computer just not booting at all. It won't even fail the memory testing and recover like it usually does with other RAM when I push it too far. This kit just makes me scratch my head.

So I went ahead and returned the RAM to Amazon. The kit worked just fine but it was just so odd that even just an increase in voltage made it unstable to the point that the computer wouldn't boot and the overclock recovery wouldn't even kick in.

I only bought it to have a spare kit around anyway. But I figure if I was going to spend the money I'd spend a few bucks more and get a kit that will at least for sure run at 2666. So I got this kit for $67.

I just got the build with them in it booted 20 minutes ago. No Windows installed yet,but when into BIOS and seen it running at stock 2400Mhz CL17. I set frequency to 2933Mhz and left timings auto, rebooted, and BIOS says running at 2933Mhz CL18 21 21 47... True test will be getting into Windows. I'll probably reset everything, get Windows on, and then go in and change one thing at a time to get a good idea for us. Thanks for posting results!

I'm using it right now and I haven't had a single issue with it. I am very surprised as Newegg was labeling it as RAM for Intel. I set it to 2933Mhz and booted up with no issues. So, I set it to 3000Mhz and again it booted into Windows flawlessly. I am very surprised as I have never used this kit. I was nervous using it with Ryzen with it's 2400Mhz CL17 base timings and figured I may have a ton of issues. I might try getting it to 3200Mhz. I am using the ASRock A320M-HD3 Rev. 4 motherboard since he won't be overclocking the 2200G.

I'm glad you had more luck than me with your kit.
I let the BIOS set the timings auto for the frequency i set. I'm sure I could tighten them up a bit, but I'm gonna leave it.
