If you are after a highly affordable power supply, choices are limited. The Thermaltake Smart RGB 500 W doesn't set any performance records, that's for sure, but you get what you pay for, and it managed to survive all of our (very tough) tests.

Selling outdated, technologically inferior junk in 2020 marked up just because RGB.
Those that know better disagree, but carry on.
Edit, you are correct, I was thinking of the higher output version which appears to perform a lot better.

but many people got affected by RGB and bling-bling things like night club lamps so adding RGB effect on low tier PSU will push the selling value :roll::roll:

@crmaris
I will give it our Budget award, but can only recommend it for entry-level systems with minimal energy needs.
Why exactly? Because to me it's clearly overpriced. This one is like you said 55 euro, for 55 euro you can also get a Pure Power 11 400W, MWE Bronze V2 450W or CX450. There are actually power supplies for 35 euro which are clearly better quality wise and more suitable for a entry level system with minimal energy needs.

HKC... what tf is that OEM.
Not HEC, right?
I mean, Thermalkek has dealt with popular industry leaders like UTPower and SANR (?) before but this... :confused:

Over the years I had many HKC's through my hands, but not one was as "good" as this one. They are known for their really bad stuff, but they are able to make something decent or good, they just don't do it a lot.
