"There’s a new crowd-funded game on the horizon called Enlisted, by Gaijin Entertainment, the people behind War Thunder. Enlisted is being developed by Darkflow Software, once they reach funding of $250,000 they’re going to add a new campaign. So far, they’re at around $40,000 at the time of writing this. They currently have two campaigns in development, and the initial goal of $250,000 would inspire a third. At $500,000, they’re adding a “player’s choice” campaign, and at $750,000 it’s a “player’s choice game module.”

"If funding reaches one million dollars, Enlisted will also be released on consoles along with PC.

They’re banking on being able to find enough gamers who are interested in entering into a World War 2 shooter without the eSports aspect. Many games are doing everything they can to add-in eSports elements, whereas Enlisted is actively avoiding it. They say the sports element takes away from the realities of war:

“Other online shooters are basically sports-like competitions with one team fighting against the other with the background set or decor of a particular historical period, but it’s not a battle, it has nothing to do with the objectives that soldiers had in real warfare.” via Enlisted.net.

Enlisted isn’t going to be about balancing everything and having equal teams on equal terrain with perfectly fair fights, they want it to feel more like an actual war. In a real battle, there’s nobody making sure that everything is fair, quite the opposite.

The objectives aren’t going to be based around wiping out every single enemy, instead they’ll be strategically based, for example infiltrating an enemy stronghold to secure a landing spot for backup. We’ve seen missions like these in single player games, but they’re looking to bring it into the world of multiplayer.
"

"You’re going to be controlling an entire unit, not just a single player:

You gather your unit and then you play with this unit until you complete your objective or until the last member of this unit of yours dies.” – Enlisted.net
They’re releasing each battle as a separate game, rather than stringing them together to form a narrative like we usually see in WW2 shooters. They’re putting a huge emphasis on accuracy, both in terms of history and how the game actually plays and feels.

They currently have a first-person and a third-person view, and the developers think that first-person will be most people’s preference.
"

"The more successful that Enlisted is, the more battles they’ll be able to release.

You can back their crowdfunding campaign starting at $6.99, which will unlock an Infantry Mosin rifle mod. 1891. For $24.99, you can unlock early access to the Invasion of Normandy campaign and a Springfield M1903 Air service. For $49.99, you’ll get three additional guns and multiple campaigns.

I played the game "Enlisted" in the US Marines for six years already.

0/10 would not recommend.

[Disclaimer, this is a joke. I've never played the game. ]

Thank you for your sacrifice.

As for this game, I've heard from War Thunder players that "Ganjin Entertainment" has a heavily pro-russian bias in their games, and they do what they want, despite playerbase complaints. This leads to a game in War Thunder with weak ass Tiger II's getting slaughtered by hoard's of experimental Russian military vehicles that never actually got used in the war.

Can't say I expect much different from this game.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I never thought I'd see Russian bias popping up here

"Russian bias" is not exactly a thing in War Thunder - it's more of a meme. Tanks made out of Stalinium, not steel; IS-2 shells guided by the hand of Stalin...you get the idea. In general, War Thunder models armor characteristics and penetration stats of its vehicles relatively accurately. M60A1 players complaining about Russian bias and whatnot because it's a mediocre vehicle.

The Tiger II family comprises some pretty strong vehicles. At the IIH's BR, it is a formidable and popular tank, but the other nations have things to counter it. Just because the Tiger II was strong doesn't mean that it is invincible; no vehicle is. T-10M is the best that the USSR has to offer, but should it miss its first shot against a paper-thin Leopard 1A1, all of its "heavy" armor is for nought against the Leopard. Basically, every tank will die a swift death when facing capable, equal BR opponents out in the open, because they all lack hull armor.

Of course, there are other meme tanks like the KV-2 but the problem is not with "Russian bias". Instead, War Thunder suffers from the exact same problem of the other MMOs - Armored Warfare and World of Tanks; the devs just keep adding new shit without listening to complaints from the playerbase. Because of that, this "Enlisted" game doesn't appear to be off to a good start either. Some parts of the press release don't make grammatical sense; others are so vague that they may as well be removed. I guess we'll just have to see if Gaijin delivers on its promises (unlikely, War Thunder has been their only successful game over the years).

@R-T-B Obsidian Entertainment's Armored Warfare is an example of Russian bias. They turn reality on its head just to satisfy their Russian playerbase. Case in point: in the lead-up to the Tier 10 vehicles, the test server version of the T-14 Armata had 999mm of penetration 1,099 alpha damage on its 152mm APFSDS; its Tier 10 compatriots only had around 750mm upgraded, max. They took the Russian Ministry of Defense's words very literally. Even after release, it's still 900+, even though Russian APFSDS has always been laughably anemic since the 1980s.

It's not like the other nations don't have strong vehicles of their own - obvious American candidates are T29 and T32.

Of course, there are other meme tanks like the KV-2 but the problem is not with "Russian bias". Instead, War Thunder suffers from the exact same problems of the other MMOs - Armored Warfare and World of Tanks. I was going by other player reports. My brother mainly... so everyone remember to take my claims with a grain of salt.

I just played Sniper Elite III and it is a good game (because they made it open world) but I'm still so done with WW2. If the game can't survive on mechanics, it definitely can't survive on plot/story (deadhorse.gif).

i got out of war thunder before the tanks because of the russian bias w/planes. also everything was a grind unless you bought packages of planes, coins or what not. well to be totally honest, dropping down in planes with higher level crews made seal clubbing fun for awhile, but then everyone was doing it.

i was interested until i seen who was making this but, no thanks.

Seems like it can be interesting, but Russian developer and MMO don't go good together. Even MMOs alone aren't good. It is great they're throwing e-sporters out the window as that hinders game design. But I'd rather wait for Rising Storm Vietnam to come out. Sounds like it may be closer to the first Red Orchestra, which was fairly realistic for the type of online shooter it was.
