Throttlestop usage without undervolting

Hello,
I used to use throttlestop to undervolt my laptop, but a recent bios update has killed that option (undervolt no longer works).
Given that other than undervolting the laptop, I did not use it for any other function, is there any point in leaving throttlestop on?
Or are there other functions running in the background which aid my computer that are "on" by default and am unaware of?

Thanks,
Ben H.

Hey not sure if your question has been answered already, but considering that pretty much all laptops (even top end gaming ones) have trash peak cooling performance, I do not recommend using ThrottleStop without undervolting. Especially if you are planning to keep the clocks over the base clock speeds..Anyways,one solution to your issue with recent bios update disabling some handy functions would be reach out to someone (reputable) online, who could build you a custom bios..I had an MSI gaming laptop for 3 years and I have found a reliable dude which for around 15 euros did a custom build bios for my machine and it was the best investment I did. Was running my i7 7700hq at around 20% permanent all cores OC with absolutely zero crashes and brilliant temps...Oh I loved ThrottleStop!!
EDIT: just to be clear,on laptops if you want to OC, undervolting is essential!

Thanks for the great reply :)
Any chance you know of a place where I can find such a reputable person?

Whats the brand of your machine? on MSI forums there is this guy that has official (unofficial) thread over there..I cant fault him, he his is really friendly and professional. He is focused om MSI gaming laptops ,but AFAIR there were people discussing also different brands.
