On my server X10SLL-F I use a quadro 600 (notice lack or K and P designations) to offload video encoding jobs. I had a big issue getting the server to start (I run headless and connect via IPMI) After fooling around I removed everything, got the board to let me into BIOS and I realized this card is probably doesn't support UEFI. A quick check showed that to be the case. https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/94453/nvidia-quadro600-1024-100825
Now while I was in bios I changed PCI-E OPROMS to legacy from EFI and left storage OPROMS set to EFI so I could boot my OS. (This server only has ASPEED 2000 BMC for vid output). Now my OS boots and Server 2019 sees the GPU awesome! I noticed a curiosity though. GPU-Z is reading the card supports UEFI which isn't the case, atleast with the DB entry above. Even if it was a typo in the VGA DB however, this was proven by the fact the machine will NOT init with EFI is selected for the PCI-E OPROMS.
I do not use this card for display output. Nothing is connected. Tts GPU workload only. Just a FYI.
Additonally, this reading doesnt appear to come from the ASPEED controller. My other server X10SLM+ -F which essentially uses the same BIOS and definitely the same ASPEED controller model does not detect anything (or UEFI). (Probably since this is again not really a GPU and just a BMC output tied to a VGA port.)
That looks normal, GPU-Z on the other server also doesnt see the ASPEED controller, just the Q600 it just thinks its UEFI capable.
