Cheers to all,
For the moment i have i7 7820x cpu......and i want to make a little upgrade in this direction. So i have some alternatives, but i want to ask something first::confused:

1. Strictly speaking, upgrade from 7820x to 7980XE is worth it for GAMING or not ?
2. i found this 7980XE at MSR street price of 90 $, is worth the money ?
3. i have Corsair H115i Platinum,this AiO handle the 7980Xe processor ?

i found another alternatives of cpu,but more expansive.
9940x at MSR price of 200-210 $
10940x at MSR price of 280 $
10900x at MSR price of 170 $

Don't know what to do,and which processor is worth it the upgrade for the gaming.Really don't know what to choose from this alternatives.

....thanks

If Your gpu is saturated from using 7820x I think 7980XE is not worth it. (I was thinking of changing the 5700x for 5950x, but the uplift is around few % max, for gaming, and 5700x is all My gpu needs, before I've had 2700 and it was choking gpu, like it drawed around 60% tdp max).
You should see 100% utilization of gpu in games that can tax it to max. (wattage the clocks boost and etc)

For gaming? not at all.

For $90, perhaps, assuming it's not degraded beyond belief.

An AIO isn't suitable for these CPUs, you'd want custom watercooling to get the most out of the chips.

To be clear, these CPUs are slower than the 7700K in many games. That's a chip that is significantly beaten by a $100 i3-12100.

No. It has more threads and more PCIe lanes, but for 8 cores that won't matter for gaming.

At this point upgrading that PC is like putting a fart can exhaust on a 1997 Corolla to "make it faster"
