Try getting just a 500watt 80+ Bronze PSU as that will be plenty for your machine. Corsairs different models are normally just differentiating the extra "bells and whistles" associated with each model (Plus some are just higher quality). I would say you could get something like this and be perfectly fine for a long time. But there are also a lot of other good brands like Seasonic, Rosewill, and many more to choose from so I would just pick a nice one 500+ watts with 80+ Bronze rated at least and not worry for a good while.

To upgrade a PSU all you need is a compatible PSU. You don't need anything else, it will just be plug and play. I do recommend the Corsair 80 Gold Plus series.

If you're looking for quality, get the EVGA Supernova G2 750watt or 850watt (not G1 or nex those are not really that great)
Either one will be more than enough even for an SLI setup if you decide to eventually go that way.
Fully modular, extremely silent.

Does your PC have one of those proprietary hp PSUs? Could you take a picture of the PSU cable that connects to the motherboard? just to make sure it's not a mini 24pin or something.

ok, seems to be standard. No problems with the CX500 that Ghostrider recommended

That is one of the reasons I hate OEMs like HP, DELL, Lenovo and etc...

They put proprietary power supplies with proprietary plugs only they have, they install motherboards with proprietary form factors with their own logo printed, proprietary cases that will only fit their proprietary motherboards and the list goes on till sunrise... :shadedshu:

I still reccomend the EVGA Supernova G2

Corsair CX600 is completely non modular.
