Upgrading CPU on LG A510 Laptop - Compatibility and Recommendations

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to upgrade the CPU on my LG A510 laptop, which currently has an Intel Core i3-390M with a socket G1 (rPGA989). The laptop has the latest QL9L3G11 BIOS and an Intel HM55 chipset. I'm considering upgrading to an Intel Core i7-640M.

Does anyone have experience with this upgrade? Are there any compatibility issues I should be aware of? Also, are there any other CPU recommendations that would be a better fit for my laptop?

And also it doesn't have a dedicated GPU. So I can't go to a Quad Core i7

I've used this site in the past when swapping Laptop CPUs.
It appears the i7-640m is the best you can hope for.

Is it fully compatible. I never saw an lg a510 laptop with the i7 640m
