Hello

I have a little problem with my USB-Stickt and I think I need some help with it, because I can't fix it on my own...

I bought an "Intenso Ultra Line USB 3.0 USB-Stick" with 128 Gb.
My problem is that it is not showing up under "Computer" when i stick it inside the USB port.
I am out of ideas what the problem could be, i tested several USB ports (2.0 and 3.0) and i cant give the drive a letter like "C: or X:". But it shows somehow up. (Drivers are up to date)

I would really appreciate it if you could help me somehow!

Possibly a corrupt partition table, delete both partitions, recreate them in Computer Management's Disk Utility (your top screenshot), format for exFAT or NTFS, give the volume a name and you should be good to go.

A new drive shouldn't have any partitions. A partiton means it's been formatted.

Op did you buy the drive new or 2nd hand?

Actually quite contrary to that, I've seen many USB HDD's and flash drives come pre-formatted and partitioned with software, including but not limited to backup, encryption, antivirus/malware, etc.

In fact, I don't recall a time when I bought a USB drive that didn't already have a partition and was pre-formatted aside from internal drives. I deal with a lot of them as I'm sure you do, but maybe up here in my market things are different.

Yep, so I know that's an exagggeration. Sure it's possible.....but not every drive like you mean, def not the norm...

How many drives have you got that came prepartioned with Antivirus installed out of the box... a couple?

Eg......they're uninitialized unless stated on package. If I unexpectedly found 2 partitions on my new drive I'd be returning it.

PS, come to think of it multiple partitions aren't allowed on removable drives.
Prob what the op's problem was

Anyways, without derailing the thread, I stand by my comments before. We can agree to disagree, I don't care to argue what I see daily. Feel free to start a new topic or start a PM. :toast:

@ OP, I'm glad your issues are resolved! That Computer Management MMC is very useful for a variety of tasks from disk management to user account and group management. Good stuff to learn and know. :)

That's fine, but so just so you know, Windows only mounts the first partition on removable USB. For multi partition the vendor has to set the drive as fixed, otherwise u need a 3rd party tool......

Tbh I never even heard of Intenso...prob a Sandisk rebrand or someting...
