If a website labels pornography as something innocent like "GI Joe" or "Barbie", they can now be forced to spend up to 20 years in prison and fined. Found here, this legislature is one of the most extensive rewritings of legislature dealing with sexual predators. It is unclear whether or not the bill passing would turn perverted webmasters into sexual felons. The new laws also
  • Punish the sale of date rape drugs with 20 years in prison.
  • Force sex offenders to provide DNA samples for identification.
  • Create a national sex offender registry, run by the FBI, including information on the offender.
  • Fund a series of pilot programs, such as the tagging of sex offenders for real-time tracking.
President Bush previously endorsed the bill, and will have a signing cermony on Thursday.
