Water cooler pump doesn't work

Hi guys

First, sorry for my English.

Second, I bought a Cooler Master ML240 ARGB and connected the pump to my CPU_FAN input, (CPU_FAN has 4 pins, but the pump cable has 3 pins). I connected the radiator fans to my SYS_FAN and they work fine. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if my pump is dead.

I've already tried connecting the pump cable to SYS_FAN, but it doesn't work

In BIOS, CPU fan shows 0 RPM.

It's my first water cooler installation, my MB is a Biostar X570GT

I would do it the other way...

Look for this cable.

It would have come as part of your mounting kit.

Plug the pump fan into sys fan and CPU fan into the fans with the splitter. The pump is designed to constantly run at 100% because its a 3 pin fan. you'll be able to configure your CPU fan RPM in your pc bios. Its just easier to do it this way.

After that all you need to do is jump into a game or run CINEBENCH an check for temperatures using HWmonitor or Core temp etc etc.

Hey thanks for reply!

I've tried connect the pump fan into SYS_FAN and the splitter on CPU_FAN, but doesn't work, the pump make a sound like 'chirping of birds', but doesn't cool, the CPU temperature rises up to 90º :(

I recently installed a CM ML240L V2 RGB.

The splitter cable is for the fans.

I plugged the pump into a CPU fan header (the mobo has 2), and it works as expected.

If you have tried multiple headers that all power up the fans, but the pump does not run when connected to the same header(s), the pump is defective.

then you have mounted the radiator the wrong way.

Mount it like this:

at the top of your case or like this:

at the front of your case.

If neither of these work then send the cooler back for a replacement because the pump is busted.

Are you sure that this low end board can pull the pump?

I noticed that in the TPU review the cpu_fan header was empty And Nate used a AIO.

But it doesn't work, I think the pump is defective :(

What I don't understand is that the pump makes a sound (like a bird) but I don't feel like water is going through the hoses

There is something else you can try but it includes use of a spare power supply.

What you want to do is take the AIO out and hook it up to a molex to 3 pin fan cable to get the pump to power on. power the power supply on then shake/rock cooler as you rotate it a few times as air could have ended up in the pump.

Not a garanteed fix, the pump could still be broken but it rules out that air is trapped in the pump.

Alternatively. If the PC is light enough, you can leave everything installed and just shake and rock the pc side to side a little while its powered on and see if that helps.

------

You have mounted the AIO correctly though. I mounted my Corsair H105 the exact same way back in the day.

You can follow this guide on how to 'jump' a PSU

My AIO pump does not make any noise. But it does have some small vibration when running.
