Hello dear friends,

I have a very strange problem that I even don't know how can I troubleshoot. I have a MSI Velox p case comes with argb card shown below:
1734727042277.jpeg

Since 15 days or more, the rgbs are unresponsive to anything. the button on the case, the mystic light software, even bios resetting. My case looks always like this:
1734727146741.jpeg

MSI Mystic light software does change the rgb of GPU, mainboard, and AMD cooler. but It won't affect the rgb which are connected to argb card.
What do you think the problem is? Is it because of portion of bios which is responsible with led, or my card is broken?

Have you tried bypassing the card, going directly to one of the motherboard's rgb, of which only two are addressable and the software probably controls separately.

Yeah, looks like the controller board is fried. Fortunately, a replacement is cheap. This stuff happens all the time.

This 10-port hub from Thermalright is just $8 on amazon. Should work for you, throw that into your bookmarks and order it next time you grab something I suppose. No rush unless the lighting bothers you :toast:

(odd, looks like Amazon embeds broke ever since W1zz added the TPU affiliate tag to links lol)

If that's the case, could it harm to motherboard?

btw, I didn't do anything wrong, why it has broken?

Probably not, if anything bad would happen to your motherboard, it would have happened 2 weeks ago. My best guess is, since that is a naked PCB, maybe it arced a spark or something. No clue.

I would probably additionally test each RGB device individually on a motherboard lighting port just to make sure that one of these wasn't to blame for any hardware issues. I have gotten fans new out of the box that did not respond to lighting data correctly. Plus, you could try that to confirm that any ARGB port(s) on the motherboard are still functioning correctly.

Also be careful not to mix up 12V RGB (4 pins) with 5V ARGB (3 pins). My MSI board, a Z690, has both types.

Update:
When Playing games, it randomly changes light modes, sometimes blinks , sometimes waving, sometimes completely off. Don't know what the relationship with the gaming could be? It can happen on any game..

Thanks for all answers.

Its set to random, you have to manually adjust it using software tool that you get from the motherboard maker

Seriously start looking on youtube about it read your board manual

The problem is, the software won't detect the led control card in any case.

Contact the card maker, and your motherboard maker for assistance.

Otherwise I guess you're SOL:rolleyes:
