Weird behavior with my ASUS TUF 4080...is it pooched?

So after messing around on my PC all morning, I start up my Cyberpunk 2077 game. After playing for about 5 minutes, the actual game action part of my screen goes black, but HUD elements and other highlighted items remain in view. Doing a quicksave and reload of my game gets all my view back, but after 3-4 minutes or so, the same thing happens.

I have played with my graphics settings...reset them all to default [I only tweak them a little]; I switched every RT setting to lowest or off [where the option is available]. My game _appears_ to be running normally aside from this...all the game files verify on Steam. I run some mods that tweak the in-game view, but I have deactivated them all, and in most cases I have been running them for months. I checked the actual install of my GPU...pulled it out and reseated it. GPU drivers are a few weeks old and seem to work fine.

Any ideas, folks?

If everything else is working fine, other games, windows, I don't think there is a problem with the card. Maybe the game install itself.

DDU and fresh offline driver install would be my go-to. If all other games work fine and it's just 2077 being dumb then it's 2077 being dumb.

There's probably mod remnants that need to be manually deleted (or updated). There was a patch a couple weeks ago.
