forgive me for being stupid about this but what video cards support 3 monitors?

obviously ati's cards do but what about nvidia?

I'm not 100% positive But I thought Nvidia needed SLI to run more than 2...But I'm not sure about the 570, 580

If for gaming, then for nV you will need two cards.

If for desktop use, get one of their NVS cards.

No single card from nVidia supports 3 monitors, however their dual GPU cards should when they are released.

If you aren't using the 3rd monitor for gaming, you can just pick up any old cheap secondary card, it doesn't have to match the main card, and use that for the 3rd monitor.

Right now, I've got an 8400GS running alongside a GTX470 to drive 3 monitors on my work PC.

I was talking consumer grade cards, but yeah you are right, and this is Fits I realize now...

Edit: I just looked up the latest Fermi Quadros and they are all also limitted to 2 active display channels at a time. The older Quadros did do more though, I know.

You will need 2 Nvidia gpu's to run three monitors. Try looking into the GTX 560ti's or GTX 570's.

at this point i'd rather go ati and use single gpu. i dont want to spend alot.

For gaming on 3 monitors, probly not. For eyefinity/nvidia surround id go bare minimum 6950 2GB/gtx460 1GB SLI.

I can play War Head @1920x1080 4xAA & all Enthusiast , i don't know how much fp/s that i am getting but doesn't feel slow at all it plays just fine & that is with my 6850 at stock speed , thanks! to the Catalyst 11.4 preview... i guess?

Funny thing about the 6950.....at 1680x1050 it games really good
and at 1920x1080 it's a little better......I don't have a way to test that at higher resolutions or I would...

I've got a 5850 1gb toxic that I run at 900/1300 for a 5760x1200 setup and I can get 40 minimum on LFD2 w/ maxed everything. Flight sim X takes a bit of a hit though and will drop to 20 at times. Crysis I had to drop to medium and no AA (w/ the nature mod installed) to get 30 avg. DA2 I can run high settings 2x AA but 16x AF and get in the mid 30's most of the time. Both ME 1 and ME 2 handled fine on eyefinity as well (I'm pretty sure I played those on eyefinity though I could be wrong).
