PRIME TITANIUM FANLESS - Seasonic High Quality Power Supplies

Seems to be discontinued; I guess relying on case flow was an issue.

*insert joke here about Seagate never making PSUs in the first place*

But nah, they’ve replaced them with the Prime TX.

Yeah, it does seem to be "Out of stock" or "currently unavailable" at the few places I looked. Not sure that means they have been discontinued or if they truly are just out of stock.

Frankly, I don't see that as a bad thing. Yes truly fanless is attractive for HTPC users who demand total silence. But at the same time, with the advent of Zero RPM PSUs, where the fan stays off until really needed, I personally like the idea of having a fan kick in to save the day - even though, I really REALLY hate fan noise.

Think if I hear the fan kick in, that simply tells me I am not getting enough ventilation and/or I need a bigger supply.

I noticed that it's hard to find 850w and 1000w titanium psu's last couple of years. Plenty of platinum's though. Not fanless, but I just am adding a general comment here.

BeQuiet is the only brand that is decently priced that has titanium 1000w for sale still.

Passive PSUs, silence wise, are getting more and more niche and relict of the past when active ones were louder due to higher minimum fan speeds and lower efficiency. There's also growing popularity of semi-passive ones, them getting cheaper - in the end we mostly value PSU's silence when anything other is able to stay not louder, so with not much load. Additionally market shifts into focusing on higher wattages with tending to release models >=750W and passive PSUs used to be lower capacity thing. Similar tendency with power draws of components, so as we can see everything seems to get against passive PSUs.

Btw Cooler Master showed something passive and, If I recall, higher wattage during Computex.
