When did AMD halve the multimonitor power consumption of RDNA3?

The latest 5070 Ti reviews show the 7900 xtx at I think ~15W vs the old 40-50+ in the multimonitor test.

Have they actually fixed the issue they've had since...(HBM cards aside) I guess... the early 2000s? people with A/C and cheap electricity (eg. the entirety of the US) that use PCs only for gaming probably won't care but this seems like a fairly big deal to me.

Around a year and a half ago, I reckon.

btw, I missed that part of blackwell reviews.
the more reason for me to stick to 4070 Super. power on blackwell seems excessive. I have a 4070S, on the latest driver I get 11w power with two 1440p monitors running (170mhz main, 165hz secondary), with yt video playing on the other one.

scored a w7500 for 180eur, hopefully with the fix + the fact that they've crippled its memory clock which is what causes the high wattage in the first place it'll achieve similar numbers lol.
yeah ada is great, that's what happens when you use a decent and recent node. by cheaping out on nodes for consumer Ampere and Blackwell Nvidia has and is still saving billions.
