ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus WIFI II(My current one) or ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A Gaming ? The reason I am considering changing the motherboard is because problems occured when I installed the new CPU and M2_2 slot drive wasn't working until I swapped drive places.(after bringing them back to their original slots they again didn't worked, guess it's some motherboard incompatibility or issues) but still , should I buy ROG STRIX ?

If I understood you correctly the M2_2 Slot works now ? If so you should keep your motherboard, no need to buy a new one.

This is probably a TPM issue. For example did you turn off Encryption before you installed the CPU? Did you do a clean install or just CMOs reset due to a new CPU?

It works but my faster nvme is on M2_2 slot which is 3rd gen and I can't use its full potential or If I do so - I get only 1 nvme working

Yes , I did all of them. Still not working in the order I want. It is working but with downgraded NVME.Everything is updated including BIOS ,nvme firmware etc , fresh OS....Tried everything in BIOS settings - nothing works.

Also I don't think I have encryption or bitlocker. At first I didn't cmos reset or clean install, but after it wasn't working I did all the things including reasembling all the pc parts from scratch with CMOS clearing.I have another opened thread for that.

I am also asking this because I heard that TUF have better CPU power delivery/regulation than ROG strix and I am wondering If I will be okay with ROG STRIX since it have better aestethics too...Yeah I have wifi and bluethoot now , but I don't use them anyway. The bigger disadvantage in buying this mobo is that I will have to buy 5vargb splitter cable which is rare in my country(I have x1 AiO ,x1 Lian Li fans 5v pin and 1 asus tuf fan which replaced my AiO 1/2 fans because it failed so in total 3v5argb that I can't attach to this ROG STRIX but a splitter cable will do the job) and maybe the power delivery may not be perfect and I DON'T WANT TO FRY my 5800x3d because I bought it days ago :(

If I am reading this right. Both slots work with the Drives in question but the PC refuses to boot if you put the faster M2 in the top slot. It could seriously be a TPM issue as Windows is really funny with NVME. It could be something as simple as the TPM settings do not work because the M2, CPU, RAM combination has changed and you did not decrypt the drive. Too bad it's is your OS drive. I would love to know what Disk Mgmt says when you have it inserted in the top M2 slot?

If you have Windows 11. Bitlocker is installed Automatically and part of One drive (Even if you disable One drive) . Part of TPM is encrypting your OS drive and creating Bitlocker keys for your entire array. Did you reset the TPM in the BIOS?

So here is the thing. I had Teamgroup 1TB (OS+storage) in M2_1 slot and WD Black SN810 OEM 512GB in M2_2 slot as an additional storage. After installing the new CPU(5800x3D) the problems started.M2_2 is missing whenever I do cold boot - neither in BIOS,neither in disk mngmnt... If I boot via BIOS or just go into bios and do not any changes but just reset and went into bios - drive is there working , detected. I tried everything , LITERALLY everything :) Reseting OS,GPU drivers,BIOS reset, setting auto/manual mode on nvme gen lanes, turning off features, FTPM on/off , bios defaults, reasembling pc with taking the cmos battery out and waiting more than hour-two , clear cmos shorting the mobo, changing the CMOS battery with a new one, reseating the cpu ,checking for bented pins, reseating ram modules....I forgot to mention something ? Oh , and the thousands of different bios options that fixed nothing. After installing the nvmes in different order I got them both working but now windows OS started acting strange: GPU drivers and SAM started acting really strange.

I am running on windows 10 but yes , I reseted secure keys and tpm and every possible option in BIOS. I honestly think that this is not some motherboard dmg/problem but yet nobody can resolve it , so it's best and easy If I just change that cursed motherboard... With my previous CPU(5600X) it works just fine in whatever order I put the drives.

Asrock X570/B550 Taichi should be a solid choice if you can still find one.

The BIOS yes. Did you do it in Windows before you installed the new CPU?
No , I did nothing before putting the new cpu into the socket except reseting bios to default , I don't think I have tpm option in win10 ,do I ?Anyway it's later now because I reinstalled couple of OS ,couple of BIOS defaults, couple of cmos battery clean , couple of bios settings in order to fix this. These settings from before are far far away from my current settings and stil - the problem occurs...I don't think it is something up to settings/configuration. Doesn't reseting bios to default is enough in order to run everything smoothly , even if it's not , doesn't reasembling and hard reseting the whole motherboard enought too ? I got really confused and exhausted hunting and fixing something that can't be identified and executed. And as far as I remember some tpm/ ftpm POST message appeared when I tried to boot for the first time which had option Y (for yes) and I had no other option than pressing yes. Also I found at least 3-4 people on the internet with this exact same problem and different mobos. So I guess the best way to execute this problem is to install the whole pc configuration with new mobo on a fresh start and build. I don't have spare drive to test if its up to the drive , or diferent pc configuration to try if its up to the motherboard.Even if it's something up with the nvme drive why would it work in different order ?
Asrock X570/B550 Taichi should be a solid choice if you can still find one.
I can get ASRock Steel Legend B550 but saw couple of people complaining of this mobo that burns their 5800x3d(one guy had x2 burned 5800x3ds from that motherboard)... It will aestethically fit my build because my GPU is ASRock steel legend too but... better not take that risk ,I mean yeah that's probably lemon mobo in that particular case but who knows :) Actually I don't mind for aestethics nevermind that my build is whole white NZXT H6 flow case ,lian li fans etc. but I actually like my current TUF mobo , it's solid with good features and robust design but yeah , this problems that occured makes me itchy and no on the internet can help me to figure this out since I tried everything so maybe the best solution is buying new mobo and forgetting about all of that + I can get that STRIX which also have aestethics design but I am worried about how it will perform with my 5800x3d and if its going to burn it/damage it or stuff like that. It feels less robust, premium than my tuf gaming too.

Last week I had the best mid-range gaming and reliable pc with cool desing. Now I have only problems since installing this CPU and yet I am happy that I have this CPU and it's really a beast in gaming.Much better than 5600x but yeah ,everything have a cost.
