I'm using an Asus tuf505dt laptop(GTX 1650) with hdmi connected to a hisense tv and the tv is connected to an ancient sony STR-K7000 5.1 home theater via optical cable where i get low quality 44khz(i think that's what it's called) sound. I noticed that some games I play have dts and dolby digital supported so I'd like to tap into those. Would DTS or dolby digital even work on a setup like this provided the source/game supports it?

I'm assuming i'm supposed to use one of the realtek drivers but saw there was more than one https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...ek-hd-audio-driver-mod-for-windows-10.232921/ and https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...1-including-realtek-usb-audio-devices.250915/ and there's this other one https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...0-11-for-all-hdaudio-enumerator-chips.292621/

You are not strictly looking for a Realtek driver, since you are using the GTX 1650 to connect, not the Realtek.
By the looks of your image you don't have Realtek SPDIF, so HDMI is your only option.

You will need to check what formats show when you open the TV in Sound Properties.

If you have 'DTS Audio' in the formats list, you can add my DTS Ultra pack to the GPU.
You will get 6 channel surround as well as normal passthrough.

Thanks for the reply. So it turns out i don't even have DTS listed in my formats list. Just Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus. Is there an alternative i can use since DTS isn't available?
