I have been noticing this Card on Newegg for the Last 2 weeks or so @ $600+.
I assumed it was a typo, until today when I noticed it was raised from the $600+ price to $770!!!. Now I know there was a new driver release that increases performance , but WTF??!! Are they charging for the "Free Games"??? LOL.

Can Someone Please explain this to Me?
I'm assuming it is a deliberate price, and NOT a typo.
I'm NOT saying it's wrong , but it's almost Double the price of the other 7970's , and I am curious.

>>>>>IF YOU KNOW WHY<<<<< , Please let me know.
Thank you.

Best Regard's

You may want to ask Newegg on this one. I don't see any reason for the price.

Newegg does price fixing. Also, when you click on an item repeatedly price goes up.

Basically greed is the answer.

It looks like it was a blip. The reviews seem to be oblivious of its current pricing, and one person even comments that it was cheaper than the $450 he paid for it.

pricing error - one of the ones that fell through the cracks, so to speak.

Oh Okay,,,I thought that as well ,, it Has just Been up For SOO long now(2-3 weeks) that I figured it was legit. Thank you for the Fast replies Guy's.

Have a Great Day/Night

Amazon > newegg

That looks to be approximately twice the cost of one 7970. Perhaps someone made a mathematical error when setting up the price. DOH

Because you have 3 free games

LOL I don't think that is why it costs double a normal 7970. The 7970's in the $380-400 range come with free games as well. I'm sorry for popping your balloon, sir.

Also, they wouldn't be "free" games now would they? ;)

Maybe it is 700 pesos. Looks like a great deal at $50.

I bought a 7770 from Newegg for $120 and got $100 worth of free games with it (Nexuiz, Far Cry 3 and MOH), so it's probably a pricing error. At that price it might as well have a fancy water block on it and a high overclock out of the box.

They should have paid you for MOH. The data that the game resides on is worth more than the game.

I see that Newegg is taking the Apple line and making this card reassuringly expensive.

I see stupid prices like these on Amazon all the time and it's at least partly to do with their automated pricing software.

Possibly an old part number on it's way out. Either that or just a screw-up.

Call the Eggheads @ NE about it. I've sometimes alerted them to pricing errors and then I look again a bit later and it's adjusted.

There have been some websites that would charge 3-7 times the MSRP of items when I've shopped around online.

That's not true. Newegg has never claimed to have the best prices but they have great costumer support and product availability. Although they are close to the best prices. It most likely a pricing error and you could fine the answer in 5 min if you talk to them. I never had an issue with Newegg. There maybe a change in demand on high end graphics causing the price change also

only drawback with the Egg and any other Etailer is the wait. Other than that they tend to have the best pricing compared to even Directron (which is maybe 3 miles away from here)

And To the other Guy, ,No It's Not because of the Free games ,lol.

They Wouldn't be free then.

I actually found a Post on E-Bay For a HD 6950 2Gb , I no Longer remember the Maker , although I want to Say it was Visiontech , if My memory Serves me correct. Any way , the Card had only a "buy it Now" choice, and it was listed @ $900+!!!.

I Sent the Seller a E-mail , asking if there was ANYTHING "special" about this particular card, or if it WAS indeed a HD 6950 , and He/She replied "No ,it's a standard Visiontech 6950 , and that NO it was NOT incorrectly listed".

I even asked if They Accidentally listed it's Price incorrectly , and The seller got REALLY angry , and sent a Reply like " why are you asking"?? "are you going to buy it"? So I just ended Communication's.

It's rediculous what SOME seller's will try to Do to Rip off un-informed Buyer's.
Shameful.
