I recently installed a Wifi 6 Ax201 160Mhz network card but in settings it shows Wifi 2 and running 600/600 transmit speed not the 1201mbps .. sometimes the transmit speed falls as low as 200mbps or 55 Mbps

I am using the 80mhz channel as my router does not support 160mhz ..

can anyone advise what the problem is?

Thanks

What is the make and model of your router?

If the router doesn't support those speeds and spectrum, the new card which looks to be backwards compatible, will only perform at the lower speeds and spectrum.

If signal isn't strong enough, you will drop speed for stability.
What is your signal strength ?
Are there any other 5G networks around ?
Additional info can be find with command : "netsh wlan show all" (when using command line window).
Example (I redacted some information for security reasons, as they are not needed here) :

NET stat.png
^I'm using 160MHz width channels with AC Wave2 class router.

PS. What drivers are you using for you card ?

You can check driver version and date under "Interface Name : Wi-Fi 2", or just above those stats you provided.
Don't worry about "Wi-Fi 2" - it's just Windows being stupid at naming stuff.

Do you have any other AX-class Wi-Fi devices ?
It would be nice to know if router can provide 1200Mbps speed to other devices that are capable of this speed (smartphone/tablet/other laptop/etc).

Edit : Probably (assuming any other 5GHz networks in your location will play nice)

It's still weird that you can't reach max. speed your router is supposed to support.
Did you check if there are any limits set in advanced settings of device properties of your Wi-Fi card (like driver is set to use Wi-Fi 4 max. speed) ?
Any firmware updates for your router ?
