Will 40 series GPUs get cheaper ?

MSRP aside (not like anything sells for it these days), it will get temporarily cheaper from the hype, then spike in price due to lack of supply and then, over time, will slowly drift down in pricing till the stocks dry up. Specifics depend on the region, natch. The usual cycle, really.

Nonsense. You can use 50 series GPUs just fine, 4.0 is more than enough for what it's worth. They ain't gonna be way too dimensionally advanced, too.
I won't expect 40 series to become more than 10 percent cheaper this year anyway. Even on the second hand market.
