what to choose ?
X370 Fatal1ty is 780pln here vs 750 pln for the cheapest x570s (X570-A Pro/Phantom 4)
It's a high end board with beefy vrm,quality onboard audio,debug led and all the bells and whistles.It's x370 though,so I don't know.

People who just wanna crap on one brand or praise another (gigabyte is shyte,asrock is great) need not respond.Please keep this discussion within the thread topic in relation to these particular boards.

Ryzen 3000 ? (5/7/9) I dont think that either board can handle all Ryzen 3000. The R5/7 3600/3700X (65W) probably yes.
And I dont have a clue about the X370/Ryzen 3000 compatibility of that specific board.
And are you talking about the MSI X570-A Pro?

I would stay away from that board unless is for a R5 3600

How does the Fatality stack up against the Asus CH6 X370?. I have the latter and I have a 3700X running quite well. I know my board's BIOS takes the 3900X. I think the best bet is to check with the ASRock support page for CPU compatibility.

I have the ASRock X370 Fatal1ty Gaming motherboard. The only issue I had was with my sound card. I ended up buying an external card and all works well. A new bios update was released which fixed the onboard sound card. But now my Ram is having a difficult time running stock 3200MT/s since this bios update. Hmmmm, hopefully they release another bios to resolve this ram instability issue when trying to run it stock.

In answering your question, I would go for the cost effective X570 mobo so you can take advantage of the new ZEN2 features.

if they're both about the same the x570 would probably sell better when you're ready to upgrade. also less of a pain in the butt to setup/flash; you just buy it and pop in the chip. Im not sure if the x370's come flashed ready for the 3000's.

I would just save up for the Asus Tuf X570 as it seems to be by far the best sub $200 X570 board and handles the 3900X with ease.

That is true.
But x370 has better vrm,better build quality and features too. It all matters in resale.flashing costs pennies here.

X370 motherboards don't seam to respond as well to bios updates for memory support ,on the few i have messed with.
In that on x470 and 570 getting your memory to and beyond 3200 is very easy on second and third gen ryzen chips where the X370 board's even with a later chip including inbuilt memory controller and a bios update they struggle to clock memory high, likely due to memory layout or something.
I would go x570 if buying a board.

All i got out of that video was use common sense. Whos going to run their system with no airflow with PBO+Auto OC on a chip allowing it to use 190w / 290w.

He even says that providing air flow throttling shouldn't be an issue on the worse board at 80c. He states throttling didn't happen until 115c.

Personally I wouldn’t like to see my board working in high temps... not when there are way better solutions. This video indicates that there are boards that do the job but with poor solutions, compared to others.
Why anyone would want to get the job done this way and not choose something more safe within the same badget? I don’t understand it.
In the same conditions 1 board’s VRM working at 110+ degrees and on another at 60~70. Same price point, same performance, same level of features...
Higher VRM temps meaning lower power capability or/and lower component quality and efficiency or/and insufficient heatsink/cooling =cheap/cheapest implementation.

What board would you trust to hold your investment in the long term? What board is seem to you more reliable in terms of power delivery?

On the same topic: Why almost everyone has waited for aftermarket RX5700s. Isn’t it because of the thermals mostly?

This all has nothing to do with brands. The last 20 years I have use lots of different brands. MSI, Asus, Gigabyte and more. I’m not a fanboy of anyone.

I doubt someone spending $500 on a CPU planning to turn on PBO to its max settings pump an additional 50+ watts is going to want to skim on a board. Not to mention the cooling will probably eclipse the price of these entry level X570s. People who were paying attention already had the list of level1 as a guide to VRMs. The video just puts it in a worst case scenario.

Just get a X470 board. 1st gen Ryzen boards had/have memory issues. I know some will say is 1st gen Ryzen IMC but if that was the truth board makers wouldn't make a big deal of detailing good updated memory tracing for better memory support with their X570 boards.

My problem with X570 is that fans are already starting to fail for some people.

The OP asked for opinions and I said mine, and tried to back it up with facts. And the fact is that some boards is worst than others, at the same cost.
And yes, if some one just wants raw power without any high end features... can do it by sticking a 500$ CPU on a sub-200$ X570 board... if... he chooses the right board.

And I think... I did say it at my first post that those boards are probably ok with the lower 3000 CPUs. But yet again there are some that can drive even the high end ones with out issues. And yes, with the same cost...

Between the X570-A Pro & Phantom 4. The X570-A Pro. The layout PCIe top location, NVMEs and chipset fan isnt blocked. I would stick to a 65w chip 3700X or lower. Most you'll deal with is 125w even if you want to PBO+Auto OC instead of 290w.

I just checked the price of X370 Taichi (same as fatal1ty,different color scheme) and it's even cheaper,can be bought from legit retailers for 720 pln.Isn't it a better buy than entry level x570 that costs 750pln ?
I'm very confused with the poll.People seem to only care about the chipset,not even looking into components.

I have a Gaming X and I'm in the same condition, I want good oc capacity (mainly memory because I think CPU oc is almost the same everywhere) and good audio if I upgrade for a 3x00
I think I will not go for a second X370 but more for a X470 since I will be able to have better speeds (currently at 3300 MHz with a R5 1600) and cheaper/same options as new X570

I'm considering the Taichi too but it's still expensive except so I will see if I can get a good deal somewhere
