First of all thank you for your time reading this post and I hope so that you will enjoy in content bellow.....
So let's start....
Maybe I am not one of those people who have the money for the latest and greatest hardware but I certainly consider myself as PC enthusiast.Now I know that probably some of you wandering how 2600 Series of Xeons can be overclocked when those Xeons are locked....well you might be correct they can't at least not the same way as we overclocking "traditionally" I7k,I9k or any other unlocked CPU's but IF you have some good-quality-branded X79 motherboard you just might be able to rise up your bclk(bus speed)in your bios and like that and with a bit of Voltage/Memory tweaking you can rise your base and Turbo CPU speed. Usually people managed to go somewhere in between 103-105 on bus speed which could improve their performance for just about few %,however there are also those people with a bit of more experience,knowledge,time and luck,and if those guys "grab" some good piece of silicon(cpu)thay can crank it up that bus speed even beyond 110-115....well this is the story of 2 CPU's that passed that imaginary line and here bellow are their benchmarking results......
This Graph above trying to represents differences in CPU power from my previous PC in past 10 years or so....I decide to to show you Cinebench R15 results as I managed to keep all those scores.....
Now here we have our 2 "hero's" on the left side is Xeon 2697 V2 that I OC 3,45Ghz(115,2 bclk) on all cores + turbo boosting on few cores all the way up to the 4,03Ghz and on the right side we have Xeon 2650 V2 that is OC on 3,4Ghz and boosting all the way up to the 3,85Ghz.....
Lets start our benchmarking comparison with the GeekBench 4 both CPU's managed to score way above the average scores for those cpu's...It's not surprising that Xeon 2697 V2 have almost for 10k better score in multi-core score but is nice to see that beats 2650 V2 in single-core also.......
Passmark 9 Performance test is next,there are also results from other cpu's(all on stock speeds)and also you can see the result of Xeon 2697 V2 on stock speed...and yeah "our"overclocked Xeon 2650 V2 beats "12-headed" monster on his stock speed however when is OC Xeon 2697 V2 pass that 20k line and seriously threaten new&modern Ryzen 3700....
Now we see the results in CPU Z Multi Core Test....Our OC Xeon 2697 V2 is fighting the battle proudly and even beating his younger"brother" on X99 platform Xeon 2678 V3.........
In Aida64 Extreme on CPU Queen test we can see that OC 2650 V2 crushing younger and much more expensive I9 8700k(stock speed) also 2697 V2 is almost reaching the whooping 100k score!!!
When it comes to the rendering 2697 V2 is still wining over the 8700k but as we can see the raw power is not enough and 2650 V2 falls behind the 8700k...
Now when it comes to the gaming Time Spy Physics score is good indicator how much power your CPU holds.....and we can see that 2697 V2 is in between 9900k and 8700k where 2650 V2 still beating the Ryzen 2600....now this don't means that 2650V2 is better cpu for gaming then Ryzen 2600 as we compare here 8 cores Vs 6 cores and usually games prefers less but faster cores instead of more slower cores however newer games become to utilize better more cores/threads then ever before.....
Here we can see all Firestrike results between 2697 V2 and 2650 V2 using the same Graphic card(R9 Fury)...GPU score is almost identical(no surprise) of course but thx to the better Physics score Xeon 2697 V2 push enough for the overall win.......
And finally we can see how those 2 CPU act in latest Cinebench R23 benchmark....as both of them missing AVX 2 instruction that reflects on their final scores but never the less Xeon 2697 V2 almost reaching 10k in scores and it is interesting to see that still beats easily unlocked and overclocked Xeon 1680 V2.....
When it comes to the power consumption is expected to see that CPU with more cores/threads use more power when it needs and when it's utilizes 100% in heavy workloads but as we can see the difference is almost negligible when both cpu's are in idle or during the gaming........
At the end let's not forget the temperatures I was using the same "cheap" Xigmatek LOKI SD963 Air cooler with 3 cooper pipes and 2 fans on it.....Under the heavy torture test both cpu's stay way bellow Intels TJ Max specifications....
