It's a really good deal. Considering I own both the Xigmatek and the 9700, for the price, i would deffinitely go for the 9700. The 9700 does a better job on my quad core under heavy load over the Xigmatek anyways.

It does? I want screeny's man! Nah, I've seen both the 9700 own a Xigmatek and a Xigmatek pwn a 9700. It all depends on the ambent temp of the case, and so forth on this. I have a Xigmatek on my quad and so does RM and its cool. But I've seen at some places where the 9700 can handle the load. But, I have to see how it does come the summer and so forth... But then me, I don't oc my core to hell.. Just my video cards!

I think that under constant load the copper works better than the aluminum. Just a theory. Really, though they are both pretty much neck and neck. The Zalman's blue led just matches my case.:)

Yeah, thats the same thing I was looking at just now. I really haven't stressed my system to much with my striker board in it... I'll have to see once I know if I'm going to RMA my video card to Newegg for money back, or RMA it to Palit... Died in less then two months!

Edit: If you want E rocker, We can get together in a month or so and come up with a way to "Test" it out

the xigmatek can do a *couple* degrees C lower than the Zalman in the reviews i've seen, but i've also heard the 9700 can do better in some environments.

i bought my 9700 a few months ago for $48 onsale and i'm glad i did, i won't be replacing it anytime soon either.

Back when I bought it, I shelled out ~$75 here. It's not a bad thing really, just that the controller can be a pain, it's somewhat loud, etc. Watch how these guys pitted it against a liquid system, not all that bad ey?

Neither do I. I guess it's become rudimentary with expert users. They do have a NVidiot version of the same cooler, CNPS 9700NT that comes with Al fins, NV green lighting and a NVidia sticker (it's featured in the NForce 790i Ultra motherboard advertisements), what's funny is that the controller isn't part of the package.
