ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the GR8, a console-inspired gaming PC that delivers incredible performance in a compact 2.5-liter chassis. ROG GR8 boasts an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti graphics for Full HD gaming. It features up to 16 GB DDR3L memory, a hard disk drive or high-speed solid state drive (SSD), built-in dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and comes preinstalled with Windows 8.1. ROG GR8 also has a built-in Miracast receiver to stream HD content wirelessly from supported Android smart devices or Windows 8.1 PCs directly to a HDTV.

ASUS today announced the Republic of Gamers (ROG) G Series G551 and G771 gaming laptops. These new G Series models represent a performance leap over their predecessors, with up to Intel Core i7 processors and enthusiast-grade NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics for the horsepower to drive today's games smoothly at their highest settings. The G Series laptops exhibit their visual prowess with wide-angle IPS displays, and provide gamers with Full HD visuals. There's also 4K/UHD-ready Trinity Display output for multi-monitor gaming or multitasking.

The distinctive G Series design features a matte-black brushed-aluminum finish with red diamond-cut edges, and bears an illuminated ROG logo on the lid. The keyboards are designed especially for gamers, and the almost-silent cooling system efficiently removes heat with minimum fan noise.

ASUS is giving the GeForce GTX 970 its ROG Strix treatment. The cooler features a unique fan-speed curve that keeps the fans dead until a temperature threshold is approached, and only gradually spins it up from there on. So, in most non-gaming and light-gaming applications, the card should be completely quiet. The underlying heatsink is a meaty dual-slot variant of DirectCU II. The card ships with a factory-overclock, although the exact clocks are not known. ASUS plans to launch the card on the 19th.

ASUS today announced the Z10PE-D8 WS motherboard based on the Intel C612 chipset and with dual processor sockets ready for the latest Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 product families.

The new Server System Infrastructure Enterprise Electronics Bay (SSI EEB) motherboards have superb storage support, including the ASUS PIKE II (Proprietary I/O Kit Expansion) card and support for PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 x4 M.2 (Next-Generation Form Factor, or NGFF). ASUS is preparing to cut prices of its motherboards by 5-10%, according a Taiwan-based newspaper. The Economic Daily News (translated) reports that the company is preparing these 5-10% retail price-cuts across its lineup, in a bid to compete better with second-best (by volume) Gigabyte, trailed closely by ASRock, and MSI. The paper observes that the cuts could impact Gigabyte's sales in China, making it fall short of its 5.5-6 million units shipped goal, down to 5.4 million, in Q3 2014. Its annual target of 21.5 million could drop to 20 million. ASUS shipped 10.4 million motherboards in the first half (Q1 and Q2) of 2014, and aims to ship 22.1 million units by the year-end.Update (17/09): ASUS stated that it currently does not plan to cut prices of its motherboards.

ASUS' entry-level socket LGA2011-v3 motherboard, the X99-A, began selling. Although announced along with ASUS' mainline flagship, the X99-Deluxe, the X99-A, along with mid-range X99-Pro, weren't available immediately, as the company decided to go in with three flagship LGA2011-v3 products, the ROG Rampage V Extreme and X99-WS being the other two. The X99-A appears to be based on a slightly watered down version of a PCB it shares with the X99-Pro; different from that of the X99-Deluxe. It's targeted at high-end gaming PC and mid-range content-creation builds.

To begin with, the X99-A is built in the standard ATX form-factor. It draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors. An 8-phase VRM conditions power for the CPU, with a 2+2 phase VRM for the eight DDR4 DIMM slots flanking the CPU socket on either sides. The CPU socket is wired to three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x16/x16/NC or x16/x8/x8 on i7-5960X and i7-5930K; and x16/NC/NC or x8/x8/NC or x8/x4/x4 on i7-5820K), and a 32 Gb/s M.2 slot, which features a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 physical layer. Other expansion slots include one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (electrical x4), and two PCI-Express 2.0 x1. The board supports 3-way NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the G20 compact gaming desktop, a stylish gaming PC designed to dominate the small-form-factor gaming desktop segment. ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the limited-edition Ares III, the world's fastest water-cooled gaming graphics card with a slim, single-slot form factor. Powered by dual AMD Radeon Hawaii XT R9 290X GPUs factory-overclocked at 1030 MHz, and boasting 8 GB of GDDR5 memory with a clock speed of 5000 MHz, ROG Ares III delivers blazingly-fast performance. At IFA 2014 ASUS summoned the spirit of the netbook and announced an 11.6-inch notebook that starts at just $199. Named EeeBook X205, this entry-level laptop is 0.7 inches thick and has an HD (1366 x 768) screen, a 1.33 GHz Atom Z3735 (Bay Trail) chip, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB or 64 GB worth of NAND-based storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a microSD card slot, a micro HDMI output, and a 38 Whr battery enabling up to 12 hours of operation per charge.

The EeeBook X205 runs Windows 8.1 with Bing and will be available in Q4 in four color versions - black, white, red and gold.

Today at IFA 2014 ASUS showcased its newest Zenbook series ultrabook, a 13.3-inch model dubbed Zenbook UX305 which comes equipped with a 14 nm Intel Core M (Broadwell) processor. The all-aluminum UX305 is 12.3 mm thick, it weighs just 1.2 kg and has a QHD+ (3200 x 1800) display, a 128 GB or 256 GB solid state drive, Bang & Olufsen speakers, 802.11ac WiFi, three USB 3.0 ports, and an HDMI output.

The Zenbook UX305 will ship later this year in two color versions - Obsidian Stone and Ceramic Alloy. No word on pricing.

ASUS announced the Radeon R9 285 Strix graphics card, based on AMD's latest 28 nm "Tonga" silicon. The card utilizes ASUS' latest Strix cooling solution, which stays silent until a thermal threshold is reached, only beyond which, its fans begin to spool up. Barring its new cooler shroud design and fan-speed management, the Strix cooling solution bears strong resemblance to the company's DirectCU II cooling solution. ASUS is shipping the card with a factory-overclock. Based on the 28 nm "Tonga" silicon, the R9 285 from AMD features 1,792 stream processors, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 256-bit wide memory interface, which holds 2 GB of memory on this card.

ASUS rolled out its workhorse claw-grip gaming mouse to compete with market favorites such as Razer Deathadder 2013 and SteelSeries Rival; the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Gladius. Measuring 126 mm x 67 mm 45 mm (LxWxH), and featuring a fixed weight of 116 g, the ROG Gladius has a mostly-ambidextrous appearance, but is oriented for right-handed gamers. The mouse features a 5-button layout, with a 6th resolution adjustment button.

Under the hood, is a 6,400 dpi sensor with 50 g acceleration, and 200 ips command rate. All buttons are Omron-made, with the main two buttons being rated for 20 million clicks. The scroll-wheel and middle-click buttons are reinforced. The mouse features an onboard EEPROM that lets you program resolution, acceleration, and macro-maps directly to the mouse, so you don't lose them to a broken SSD. Other neato features include user-replaceable Teflon feet, and two detachable 2 m long USB cables, one that's braided, and another that's slick, rubberized. The overall mouse body is rubberized, with matte elements. Those wanting a glowy logo are covered with a red ROG one.

ASUS today announced X99-Deluxe, X99-Pro and X99-A, three new ATX motherboards based on the Intel X99 chipset and packed with exclusive technologies, including OC Socket and 5-Way Optimization, to ensure ultimate performance from the latest LGA 2011-v3 Intel Core i7 processors.

X99-Deluxe is the flagship model, with a bundled ASUS Hyper M.2 x4 expansion card for ultra-fast 32 Gbit/s transfer speeds; onboard 3x3 (3T3R) 802.11ac for ultra-fast Wi-Fi speeds of up to 1,300 Mbit/s; and an ASUS Fan Extension Card for flexible additional cooling. With a cool, streamlined outlook that includes a broad, striking-white shield, X99-Deluxe and X99-Pro also deliver the futuristic style and strong performance demanded by PC enthusiasts.

Finnish overclocker "The Stilt" overclocked his brand new AMD FX-8370 to a record-breaking 8722.78 MHz. The target was achieved using a base-clock of 276.91 MHz, and a multiplier of 31.5x, core voltage of 2.004V, and DRAM frequency of 1107 MHz (2214 MHz DDR). Other hardware included an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard, and 2x 4 GB of AMD made DDR3 memory. The setup was cooled by a liquid nitrogen evaporator. Every company has a flagship product or service. ASUS, which started out as a motherboard brand, has its newest, the ROG Rampage V Extreme. Based on the Intel X99 Express chipset, the board drives Core i7-5000 "Haswell-E" HEDT processors. It begins with a high-current 8-phase CPU VRM that draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX, 8-pin EPS, and 4-pin ATX connectors. The CPU socket is wired to eight DDR4 DIMM slots, and five PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (one of which features a lane bypass).

Storage connectivity on the Rampage V Extreme includes 12 SATA 6 Gb/s, one SATA-Express, and an M.2 with PCIe 2.0 x4 physical layer. Other connectivity includes SupremeFX 2014 audio, Intel-made gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 ac WLAN with Bluetooth 4.0, fourteen USB 3.0 ports (ten on the rear panel, four by headers), and high-current USB 2.0 ports so your USB gaming peripherals never run out of juice. The usual complement of ROG-exclusive features are present.

Among ASUS' soon-to-be-released line of X99-based motherboards workstation users will be able to find one product made specifically for them, the X99-E WS. This new ATX board offers support for both Core i7 5xxx Series and Xeon E5 processors and includes no less than seven PCI-Express x16 slots for SLI or CrossFireX setups.

The X99-E WS also has eight DDR4 memory slots, one SATA Express connector, eight SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet, Crystal Sound 2 7.1-channel audio, ten USB 3.0 and two eSATA ports, a Q-Code logger button, 12K solid capacitors, and ProCool power connectors. ASUS' motherboard is said to have a MSRP of $519 but it can be found listed at $499.

ASUS announced one of its first Republic of Gamers branded mousepads, the ROG GM50. This unusually shaped mousepad features a fiber-weave design that's coated with a material that reduces friction, improves tracking accuracy, and has anti-bacterial properties. The pad is designed to strike a balance between speed and accuracy, with the company claiming it will go just as well be both FPS and RTS gaming. With an area of 380 mm x 280 mm, the GM50 is 3.5 mm thick. Other innovations include blunt corners, a mouse cord untangling band at one corner (though we're not sure how that will fly with bungee users), and a complimentary silicone wristband with ROG branding. ASUS is expected to launch the ROG GM50 in major markets by the end of September.

Based on the 28 nm "Tonga" silicon, the R9 285 features 1,792 Graphics CoreNext 1.1 stream processors, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface. The card is set to launch on 2nd September, 2014. It will start at US $249.

Featuring 192 CUDA cores, and a 64-bit wide DDR3 memory interface, holding 1 GB or 2 GB of memory, ASUS' cards stick to NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 797 MHz core, and 1600 MHz DDR memory. The card features PCI-Express 2.0 x8 bus interface, and display outputs include dual-link DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub.
