BIOSTAR Announces Hi-Fi A85W 3D Socket FM2 Motherboard

BIOSTAR, maker of embedded/IPC solutions, graphics cards, and motherboards, has introduced their latest motherboard that supports AMD's FM2 APU family (Trinity / Richland), the Hi-Fi A85W 3D. It comes with BIOSTAR's own in-house audio technology called "Hi-Fi 3D".

The Hi-Fi A85W 3D is an ATX form factor board that features AMD socket FM2 APU support and 4 DDR3 memory slots. It includes the usual high-end motherboard features like USB 3.0, HDMI and PCI-E slots. BIOSTAR Unveils a Trio of Socket LGA1150 Motherboards

BIOSTAR unveiled a trio of socket LGA1150 motherboards at CeBIT. Unlike ASRock's creations, its boards appear more complete, with heatsinks and finalized board color scheme. All three feature the company's Puro HiFi technology, a high-quality on-board audio with a focus on physically improving audio quality, rather than artificially. Among the boards are the HiFi-B85S2, the HiFi-Z87X3D, and the HiFi-H87S3+.

To begin with, the HiFi-H87S3+ features the micro-ATX form-factor, which still leaves room for four DDR3 DIMM slots, a simple 4-phase VRM to power the CPU, one each of PCI-Express 3.0 x16 and legacy PCI, two PCI-Express 2.0 x1; 6-channel Puro HiFi audio, DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI display outputs; a pair of USB 3.0 ports, and six internal SATA 6 Gb/s connectors. It is based on the H87 chipset. The HiFi-B85S2 features a slim ATX form-factor, is based on the B85 Express chipset, features just the two DDR3 DIMM slots, a PCI-Express 3.0 x16, a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (electrical x4) wired to the PCH; two each of PCI-Express 2.0 x1 and legacy PCI; six SATA 6 Gb/s ports, 6-channel Puro HiFi audio, gigabit Ethernet, four USB 3.0 ports, and a display connectivity loadout of DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI.

Biostar Releases the Hi-Fi A85W FM2 Motherboard

Taiwan-based Biostar Microtech has now announced a new motherboard supporting AMD's FM2 APUs, the Hi-Fi A85W. Powered by the A85X chipset, this board comes with a bunch of audiophile-friendly features like a noise-blocking multi-layer PCB design (isolates analog audio signals from digital sources), a built-in amplifier, Non-Polarized Electrolysis Electric audio capacitors for each audio channel circuit, 'Hi-Fi' resistors, and the Hi-Fi Power technology (audio components have an independent power design).

Biostar's motherboard also has four DDR3-2400 memory slots, eight SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, two PCIe x16, two PCIe x1 and two PCI slots, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1-channel audio (Realtek ALC892 codec), a debug LED, two USB 3.0 ports, and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs. The Hi-Fi A85W has a recommended price tag of €124.90.

Biostar Launches the Hi-Fi A85S3 and HiFi A75S3 FM2 Motherboards

BIOSTAR, a manufacturer of motherboards, graphics cards, industrial computing systems and peripherals, has officially launched their latest editions to their AMD FM2 motherboard lineup, the Hi-Fi A85S3 and HiFi A75S3. These are the most cost effective solutions that support AMD Socket FM2 CPUs and offer native support for SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and dual-channel memory up to DDR3 - 2400 in over-clocking mode.

Socket FM2 is a CPU socket used by AMD's Trinity Fusion APU's which will also utilize AMD's new A85X and A75 chipset. The Hi-Fi A85S3 and A75S3 have also received the official Windows 8 hardware certification from Microsoft.

Biostar TA75MH2 FM2 Motherboard Makes European Debut

Biostar has now announced the European arrival of the TA75MH2 motherboard supporting AMD's Socket FM2 processors. Based on the A75 chipset, this micro ATX board features 100% solid capacitors, two DDR3-1866 memory slots supporting up to 32 GB of RAM, six SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, one PCI-Express x16, one PCI and two PCIe x1 slots, Gigabit Ethernet, 5.1 channel audio, two USB 3.0 ports, plus D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs.

The TA75MH2 has a recommended price tag of €62.90.

Biostar Unveils the A55MD2 and A55ML2 FM2 Motherboards

Biostar is currently preparing the launch of two lower-cost motherboards supporting AMD's 'Trinity' APUs, the A55MD2 and A55ML2. Seen below, both models are powered by the AMD A55 chipset and feature a micro ATX form factor, two DDR3-1866 memory slots (supporting up to 32 GB of RAM), four SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, one PCI-Express x16 slot, one PCI slot, four USB 2.0 ports, 5.1-channel audio, and a D-Sub output.

The A55ML2 also has 10/100 Ethernet, while the A55MD2 boasts Gigabit LAN and adds a DVI port. No word yet on prices.

Biostar Unveils Two Hi-Fi Series FM2 Motherboards

Biostar is currently preparing the release of two more motherboards supporting AMD's FM2 (codename Trinity) APUs, the Hi-Fi A85S2 powered by the A85X chipset and the Hi-Fi A55S2 equipped with an A55 chip. Since they are part of the Hi-Fi Series, both models feature an integrated independent audio power design and built-in amplifier, as well as a noise-blocking multi-layer PCB layout, the goal being to deliver a higher quality sound.

Both boards have an ATX form factor and pack 100% X.D.C solid capacitors, two DDR3-1866 memory slots, one PCIe x16 and two PCIe x1 slots, three PCI slots, Gigabit Ethernet, 5.1-channel audio, plus D-Sub and DVI outputs. The A55S2 also includes six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports and four USB 2.0 connectors, while the A85S2 comes with eight SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 plugs, and an HDMI output. No word yet on pricing.

Biostar Also Rolls Out the NM70I-847 All-in-One Mini ITX Motherboard

In an effort to please customers craving for compact computing solutions Biostar has released a new mini ITX motherboard, a model called NM70I-847 which is powered by Intel's NM70 chipset and comes equipped with a 1.1 GHz Celeron 847 CPU.

Biostar's board includes two DDR3-1333 slots (supporting up to 16 GB of memory), one SATA 6.0 Gbps and three SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, one PCI-Express x16 slot, Gigabit Ethernet, 5.1-channel audio, four USB 2.0 ports, and D-Sub and HDMI outputs. The NM70I-847 is selling for about €75.

Biostar Releases the H61MLV2 LGA 1155 Micro ATX Motherboard

Biostar has now let loose a new motherboard supporting Intel's 2nd and 3rd generation Core processors, the H61MLV2 which is powered by the H61 chipset and comes in a micro ATX form factor. Seen below, the board has two DDR3-1600 memory slots (supporting up to 16 GB of RAM), four SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, one PCI-Express (3.0) x16 and one PCIe x1 slot, 10/100 Ethernet, 5.1-channel audio, and a D-Sub output.

The H61MLV2 also offers features like BIO-Remote 2 and Charger Booster, and has a recommended price tag of €38.90.

BIOSTAR Introduces the A68I-350 DELUXE All-In-One Mini ITX Motherboard

BIOSTAR, a manufacturer of motherboards, graphics cards, industrial computing systems and peripherals, has announced the start of sales for their unique ultra-compact motherboard, the A68I-350 DELUXE with an integrated APU-chip, the AMD Fusion 350D (Socket BGA FT1). With the ultra-small dimensions of this Mini ITX board (only 170 x 170 mm) and the high degree of integration of its powerful components, the design of a modern multimedia and entertainment setup with the minimum of components has become possible, all at a very affordable price.

Biostar Releases the A55MLV FM1 Motherboard

Taiwan-based Biostar Microtech has this week released a new motherboard supporting AMD's FM1 APUs (A8, A6, A4 and E2 Series). Dubbed A55MLV, the board is powered by the AMD A55 chipset, has a micro ATX for factor, and features two DDR3-1866 memory slots, four SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, plus one PCI-Express x16 and one PCI slot.

The A55MLV also has 10/100 Ethernet, 5.1-channel audio, and a D-Sub output, and is selling for 40 Euro.

A10-5800K Cracks 7.30 GHz in Overclocking Feat

Apparently, AMD wasn't exaggerating with its 6.50 GHz over LN2 claim for its A10-5800K APU. Overclocker GASBK_TW achieved 7317.74 MHz clock-speed for the A10-5800K, with a base clock of 118.03 MHz, multiplier of 62x, and a staggering 1.956V core voltage. The APU was cooled by liquid nitrogen. Other key components include Biostar Hi-Fi A85X motherboard, 4 GB of G.Skill DDR3-1600 MHz memory, and discrete Radeon HD 7700 series GPU. Biostar Also Unveils T-Series TA75MH2 Micro-ATX Socket FM2 Motherboard

In addition to the Hi-Fi A85W, Biostar unveiled a mainstream socket FM2 motherboard in the micro-ATX form-factor, the T-Series TA75MH2. Based on the AMD A75 FCH, the motherboard is designed keeping essential connectivity in mind, and is built in the compact micro-ATX form-factor. The FM2 socket, which supports the latest AMD A-Series "Trinity" APUs, is powered by a simple 5-phase VRM. Nevertheless, Biostar included a MOSFET heatsink. The FM2 socket is wired to two DDR3 DIMM slots, supporting up to 32 GB of dual-channel DDR3-1866 MHz memory; and a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot.

In addition to the PCI-Express 2.0 x16, the TA75MH2 features two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 and a legacy PCI slot. The AMD A75 FCH gives out six SATA 6 Gb/s ports, all of which are assigned as internal ports on the TA75MH2. Display connectivity includes DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub. The TA75MH2 packs legacy connectivity, including COM (serial) and LPT (parallel), via headers. Other connectivity includes 6-channel HD audio, gigabit Ethernet, and four USB 3.0 ports (two on the rear panel, two via header). The board is driven by UEFI BIOS. It is expected to be priced at US $70.

Biostar Unveils its Second Hi-Fi Series Socket FM2 Motherboard

Biostar unveiled its second socket FM2 motherboard in its audio-optimized Hi-Fi series, following the mid-September launch of Hi-Fi A85X. The new Hi-Fi A85W is designed to be a more affordable model, based on a new PCB design, while retaining the Puro Hi-Fi audio with integrated amplifier. It is built in the compact ATX form-factor. The FM2 APU socket, which supports the latest A-Series "Trinity" APUs, is powered by a 6-phase VRM, which draws power from a 4-pin ATX connector. It is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots supporting up to 64 GB of dual-channel DDR3-1866 MHz memory, and a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot.

Expansion slots include two long PCI-Express slots, however, only one is wired to the APU, and is electrical PCI-Express 2.0 x16, the other is electrical PCI-Express 2.0 x4, wired to the A85X FCH. Other expansion slots include two each of PCI-Express 2.0 x1 and legacy PCI. All eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports from the chipset are assigned as internal ports. The four USB 3.0 ports from the chipset are distributed as two rear-panel ports, and two via header. Display outputs include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub. Gigabit Ethernet and 10 USB 2.0 ports make for the rest of the connectivity. The board is driven by AMI UEFI BIOS. It is expected to be priced around US $90.

BIOSTAR, a manufacturer of motherboards, VGA cards, industrial computer systems and other peripherals, has officially launched their latest edition to their high-end motherboard lineup, the Hi-Fi A85X. This newest ATX form factor motherboard supports all AMD Socket FM2 CPUs and offers native support for SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and dual-channel memory up to DDR3 - 2400 in over-clocking mode. Socket FM2 is a CPU socket used by AMD's upcoming Trinity Fusion APU's which will also utilize AMD's new A85X chipset. The Hi-Fi A85X has also received the official Windows 8 hardware certification from Microsoft.

"With our professional quality sound and video capabilities on this board, a user can set up a full PC based home theater system with full THX support and true 7.1 surround sound…I mean the real thing, this isn't simulated. You have to hear it to believe it", he enthused.

Biostar Launches the AMD-Powered A68I-350 DELUXE mini-ITX Motherboard

Taiwan-based Biostar Microtech has this week introduced the A68I-350 DELUXE, a HTPC-friendly mini-ITX motherboard based around AMD's Brazos 2.0 platform. This 17 by 17 cm board is powered by the AMD A68 chipset and comes equipped with one E-350D processor (two cores @ 1.6 GHz, Radeon HD 6310 Graphics), two DDR3-1066 memory slots, three SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, one PCI-Express x16 (x4 electrical) slot, Gigabit Ethernet, 5.1-channel audio, two USB 3.0 connectors and two display outputs (D-Sub and HDMI).

The A68I-350 DELUXE is now shipping and has a recommended price tag of 66 Euro.

Biostar Displays Hi-Fi Series A85-based Socket FM2 Motherboards

Biostar is ready with a trio of socket FM2 motherboards, based on AMD's new A85 FCH chipset, the higher-end Hi-Fi A85X, mid-range Hi-Fi A85W, and value Hi-Fi A85S. Biostar implemented some of its latest innovations on the two. To begin with, the thee feature Hi-Fi amplifiers for the analog channels of the onboard audio. The audio solution combines a high SNR CODEC (probably ALC898) with an OPAMP circuitry that uses sound card grade electrolytic capacitors. The entire audio portion of the motherboard, including the rear panel jack cluster and front-panel headers, have a ground PCB layer of their own, that is isolated from the ground layer of the rest of the board. This ensures there's no ground layer interference from other high-current components on the board, a problem common with onboard audio solutions.
