CHERRY Unveils MX Keyswitch Engineered for RGB Multicolor Illumination

With its "MX RGB switch", CHERRY is presenting the next evolutionary stage of its billion-fold proven mechanical keyswitches of the "MX" series. The MX switches with Gold Crosspoint technology have up to this point been appreciated by millions of users due to high precision, the best possible operating feel, and an extremely long service life.

Well-known manufacturers of high-quality mechanical keyboards - especially in gaming - use the Cherry MX switches in different variants. Cherry has now enhanced its leading product with RGB technology. Directly mounted on the circuit board, SMD LEDs (SMD = "Surface Mount Devices") illuminate key symbols in specially designed keycaps using the MX RGB switch in the entire RGB color spectrum - all 16.7 million RGB colors.

Corsair Rolls Out Vengeance Airflow Memory Coolers

Corsair rolled out the Vengeance Airflow line of memory coolers that are designed to complement the recently announced Vengeance Pro memory series. It keeps up with the design of Vengeance Pro modules, and comes in three color options - red, blue, and gray. Unlike similar coolers launched by the company in the past, and designed for the more premium Dominator series, Vengeance Airflow uses a single fan design, with a single 60 mm PWM-controlled fan, which can spin at speeds of up to 3,500 RPM, pushing up to 14.5 CFM of air. There's no mention of Corsair Link support. Measuring 145 mm x 67 mm x 27 mm (WxDxH), the cooler weighs about 115 g. Pricing and availability information is not at hand.

Corsair Announces CS Series Modular PC Power Supplies

Corsair, the most awarded PC power supply brand in the world1, today announced the new line of CS Series Modular power supplies (PSUs) in 450, 550, 650 and 750 watt models. Designed to be exceptionally energy efficient and simple to install, the new CS Series are the most affordable 80 PLUS Gold certified PSUs in Corsair's line of high-performance PC components.

Corsair Announces Hydro Series H75 Liquid CPU Cooler

Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance components for the PC hardware market, today announced the Hydro Series H75 dual-fan 120 mm liquid CPU cooler. The easy-to-install H75 provides PC users with quieter and more effective cooling than stock CPU coolers, all in a 120 mm footprint that is widely compatible with most PC cases on the market. The Hydro Series H75 will be available in November at a suggested retail price of $84.99 (USD).

The Hydro Series H75 is comprised of a low-profile CPU cooling block connected to a 120 mm radiator and fan assembly via kink-resistant rubber tubing. The H75's new cooling block is designed with a micro-fin copper cold plate and a high-quality, ceramic bearing pump that provides reliable, low-noise heat transfer away from the CPU. The slim 25 mm thick radiator is surrounded by dual SP120L PWM 120 mm fans resulting in design that is quieter and thinner than other dual fan coolers, and more effective at dispersing heat than single fan designs. The H75's fans work with PWM motherboard fan headers, allowing users to control the fan speed and noise levels from their motherboard's built-in software or BIOS.

Corsair Blends Flash and Flexibility in New Graphite Series 230T PC Case

Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance components for the PC hardware market, today announced the new Graphite Series 230T mid-tower PC case. Available in three colors, Battleship Grey, Rebel Orange, and Black, the new case combines dramatic, angular styling and the builder-friendly features, expandability, and flexibility that Corsair cases are known for.

The Graphite Series 230T case features a sculpted, aggressively styled steel exterior with color coordinated LED intake fans and a tinted side panel window. Inside, the matte black interior has plenty of room for multi-GPU configurations and mass storage with seven expansion slots along with four 2.5", four 3.5", and three 5.25" drive bays. The case also includes dual 120mm LED front intake fans and a rear 120mm exhaust fan, and has mounts to add two 120mm or 140mm fans on the top and a 120mm or 140mm fan on the bottom.

Corsair Announces New Lines of Gaming Mousepads

Corsair made additions to its gaming peripherals lineup with three new gaming mousepad lines, including the MM600 dual-sided, the MM400 single-sided, and MM200 entry-level. The MM600 features two sides to it, a smooth metal side optimized for speed, and a fabric side optimized for control. Measuring about 352 x 272 mm, with about 5 mm thickness, the metal reinforced MM600 weighs in at 590 g. Its rubberized edges ensure the metal plates don't tear out of the fabric.

The MM400, on the other hand, has a single low-friction surface that strikes a balance between control and speed, while being metal-reinforced like its bigger sibling. It measures 352 x 272 mm, with about 260 g of weight. Lastly there's the MM200 line of entry-level mousepads that are made of cloth and a flexible polymer, and comes in four sizes, the standard version measuring 352 x 272 mm, the XL version measuring 450 x 375 mm; the Wide version measuring 430 x 280 mm; and the Compact version measuring 265 x 210 mm. All variants are 2 mm thick.

Corsair Announces Air Series LED High Airflow PC Case Fans

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC hardware market, today announced the immediate availability of the Air SeriesTM AF120 LED Quiet Edition and Air Series AF140 LED Quiet Edition high airflow PC case fans. The new fans are the only LED fans to use Corsair's award-winning AF series impeller designs to produce higher airflow at lower noise levels. The Air Series LED fans are available in 120mm and 140mm sizes with red, white, blue, or purple LED lighting.

The Air Series LED Quiet Edition high airflow PC case fans are designed with custom-molded, ultra-thin, clear frosted blades with a sleeved bearing system and four vivid LEDs. The result is a visually striking fan which helps users build great looking PCs while delivering outstanding cooling with exceptionally low vibration, noise and turbulence. Corsair Announces Obsidian 750D Enthusiast PC Case

Corsair announced its much-anticipated Obsidian 750D ATX full-tower case (model: CC-9011035-WW). Positioned between the Obsidian 800D the company debuted its case lineup with, and the Obsidian 650D, the case is designed to provide oodles of room for storage devices, long expansion cards, and enthusiast cooling solutions. To begin with, it measures 235 x 560 x 546 mm (WxHxD), dry-weighing about 9.5 kg. The primary material is steel, with brushed aluminium for the front-panel, and ABS for drive cages and other novelties.

The Obsidian 750D can house XL-ATX, EATX, and HPTX motherboard form-factors, in addition to common ATX types. The motherboard tray has valved cutouts for cabling/tubing at the right places, and a cutout around the CPU socket area, to help manage coolers better. The drive storage area is pretty modular. There are three fixed 5.25-inch drive bays, and two detachable 3.5/2.5-inch bay cages, which can either be arranged along the floor of the case to create more room for long expansion cards, or just below the 5.25-inch cage, to create room for longer PSUs, and fixed-cable spaghetti. Each 3.5/2.5-inch detachable cage can hold three drives. There are four other 2.5-inch bays along the plane of the motherboard tray, which can be access through the right panel.

ASUS ROG Rampage IV Black Edition Breaks Five Overclocking World Records

At the OC Main Event in San Francisco, co-hosted by ASUS, Corsair and Intel, the ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard was used to break five overclocking world records. Combining the Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard with ASUS GeForce GTX Titan graphics cards, the latest 4th generation Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition processors and Corsair Vengeance Extreme and Dominator Platinum DDR3 memory, world-renowned members of the international overclocking community worked with ROG engineers to claim new top scores with the 3DMark 11Entry, 3DMark 11 Performance, 3DMark Fire Strike, Cinebench, and quad-channel memory frequency.

Corsair Introduces the RM Series Power Supplies

Link_A_Media-supporter Corsair has now announced the newest addition to its power supply offering, the RM Series. Claimed to be "optimized for silence", these new units have a fully modular design, they utilize and low-profile, flat cables, and are equipped with a 135 mm Corsair NR135L fan that, thanks to the built-in Zero RPM Fan Mode, will only be spinning during higher loads, when the temperature inside exceeds a certain level.

The RM PSUs comply with the ATX12V v2.4 and EPS 2.92 standards and are 80 PLUS Gold-certified (have an efficiency of over 92%), they are compatible with Intel's Haswell and Ivy Bridge-E processors, and include Corsair Link support. They also feature a MTBF of 100,000 hours, and are backed by a five-year warranty.

Corsair's RM Series includes six models - RM450 (450 W / $89.99), RM550 (550 W / $99.99), RM650 (650 W / $119.99), RM750 (750 W / $129.99), RM850 (850 W / $149.99) and RM1000 (1000W / $164.99). All units will be available this month.

ASUS Announces AOOC 2013 Finals

ASUS has disclosed the details of the ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2013 final which will be organized with support from Corsair. The AOOC 2013 final will be held in Moscow on October 5, 2013, as part of the Igromir 2013 expo to be hosted by the Crocus Expo Center from October 3 to 6, 2013. The ASUS booth will be located in Pavilion 1, Hall 1 of the Crocus Expo Center.

Corsair Announces High-Capacity, High-Peformance USB 3.0 Flash Drives

The Flash Voyager GS are large-capacity, high performance USB 3.0 flash drives housed in sleek, scratch-resistant brushed metal enclosures. Corsair Powers Up Gaming Headsets at PAX Prime 2013

Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance PC gaming hardware, will unveil five new gaming headsets, a gaming keyboard, and two gaming mouse mats at PAX Prime in Seattle Washington on August 30th, 2013.

The gaming headsets include the top-of-the-line Vengeance 2100 Dolby 7.1 wireless gaming headset, an improved Vengeance 1500 Dolby 7.1 USB gaming headset, the Vengeance 1400 stereo analog gaming headset, and two Raptor gaming headsets, the Raptor HS40 and Raptor HS30. A Raptor K30 gaming keyboard and two new Corsair gaming mouse mats will also be launched at the event. The new products will be available for sale in September.

Corsair Unveils the Force LS Series Solid State Drives

Corsair has today announced a new addition to its solid state drive offer, the Force LS Series models which are powered by a Phison controller and make use of Toshiba MLC NAND Flash memory. These SSDs have a 2.5-inch form factor (7 mm high), SATA 6.0 Gbps connectivity, TRIM support, and deliver sequential read/write speeds of up to 560/535 MB/s.

The Force LS SSDs are backed by a three-year warranty and come in 60 GB ($70), 120 GB ($110) and 240 GB ($200) capacities.

Corsair Expands PC Gaming Peripherals Lineup

Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance PC gaming hardware, today announced the addition of four gaming keyboards and two gaming mice to the company's Vengeance and Raptor Gaming lines.

Vengeance K70 Gaming Keyboards - Now with Cherry MX Brown or Cherry MX Blue Key Switches. In March, Corsair released the Vengeance K70 fully mechanical gaming keyboard with Cherry MX Red key switches designed for gamers who prefer a hair trigger key response. To meet the demand of users who prefer a different key feel, Corsair has expanded the K70 line to include two new versions equipped with Cherry MX Blue and Cherry MX Brown key switches. Both switch types require slightly more finger pressure to trigger and provide a more distinct tactile feel, with the Cherry MX Brown switches providing a less audible click.
Both of the new Vengeance K70 keyboards versions are housed in a rugged, brushed, gun-metal anodized aluminum chassis and have individually programmable blue backlighting for each key. Like all Vengeance K70 keyboards, the new models feature dedicated media keys as well as a 100% anti-ghosted matrix, full key rollover and a 1000Hz reporting rate for fast, accurate input for gaming.

New Corsair PC Cases Get the Cool and Silent Treatment

Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance components to the PC hardware market, today announced two new mid-tower PC cases-the Carbide Series Air 540 and the Carbide Series 330R. Both cases incorporate innovative and unique features for superior cooling and quiet operation.

The Carbide Series Air 540 is designed with a wider form factor with two "side-by-side" chambers and a Direct Airflow Path layout. This unique design helps the case deliver best-in-class cooling at incredibly low noise levels. The main chamber of the Carbide Series Air 540 houses the motherboard and hot-swap 3.5" drives for superior drive cooling and quick swapping. Corsair Launches Vengeance Pro Series DDR3 Memory

Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance components to the PC hardware market, today announced the Corsair Vengeance Pro Series of high-performance DDR3 computer memory for PC overclockers, enthusiasts, and system builders. Available initially in capacities up to 64 GB and speeds up to 2933 MHz, the Vengeance Pro Series memory modules are designed to set new levels of value and overclocking performance with the 4th generation Intel Core processor family (codenamed Haswell) and previous generation Intel and AMD platforms.

Vengeance Pro Series memory modules are built with eight-layer PCBs and RAM ICs specially selected for speed and overclocking headroom, and like all Vengeance memory, incorporate XMP 1.3 profiles allow for automatic, reliable overclocking. Corsair Carbide Air 540D Makes Both Side Panels Equally Important

Corsair isn't without a contingent of new cases at Computex. A star attraction in its suite is the Carbide Air 540D. Pictured below, this somewhat cubical cases partitions the motherboard tray vertically from compartments that hold the PSU and drives. This partitioning makes sure peripheral/drive power cable doesn't clutter the motherboard tray area. The part with the motherboard tray is more airy than the other, with stripes of perforated metal running the front and top. This portion features provision for two front-facing fans, two on the top (with enough clearance for a 240x120 radiator), two bottom intakes, and a 140 mm rear exhaust.

The case can hold ATX and EATX motherboards, with eight expansion slot bays. The space below the motherboard tray and the bottom of the case, can either be used to expand storage with two 3.5/2.5-inch trays, or a second 280x140 radiator. All cables from the motherboard compartment can be routed through the valved holes to the other part of the case, which holds a long PSU bay, two 5.25-inch drive bays, and a couple of detachable drive cages holding multiple 3.5/2.5-inch bays. Corsair plans to launch the case some time in July.

Corsair Components Turns to Francisco Partners for Strategic Investment

Corsair Components, Inc., a premier global supplier of high-performance PC components, has received a strategic investment of approximately $75 million from Francisco Partners, a leading technology-focused investment firm. Francisco Partners will partner with Corsair CEO Andy Paul and the management team to further strengthen Corsair's market-leading position among PC gaming enthusiasts. Paul and the current management team will continue to hold a substantial equity interest in the company.

"Under the leadership of Andy Paul, Corsair has built an enviable brand among videogame enthusiasts," said Andrew Kowal, partner at Francisco Partners who leads the firm's hardware investment activities. "This brand position was born out of the team's great passion for delivering best-in-class products to its customers around the world."

Corsair Releases Drive Cloning Kit and SSD Software Utility

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components, today announced two new solid-state drive (SSD) related products. The first, the SSD & Hard Disk Drive Cloning Kit, enables users to easily duplicate and transfer data between drives. The kit, which includes a cable and software, is ideal for users upgrading from traditional hard disk drives (HDD) to faster, more rugged Corsair SSDs. In addition, the company announced the Corsair SSD Toolbox, a free software utility which enables users to configure, optimize and monitor their Corsair SSDs.

The SSD & Hard Disk Drive Cloning Kit enables users to move data between a hard drive and SSD by simply selecting the source drive and destination drives and then clicking a button. Designed for users migrating their data to newly installed SSDs, the kit includes data migration software, a USB-to-SATA cable, and Quick Start Guide. The cable supports USB 3.0 and 2.0 delivering transfer rates up to 180 MB/s with USB 3.0 ports, 4 times faster than USB 2.0.

Corsair Clarifies Francisco Partners Deal

Late last week, it surfaced that Corsair could be in acquisition talks with tech venture capital firm Francisco Partners. At the time, the possibility of those talks leading to something other than acquisition, something more along the lines of an investment by Francisco Partners in Corsair.

Corsair clarified that Francisco Partners is investing $75 million, making it a shareholder in Corsair, and that the deal is not an acquisition. The investment won't cause any changes to Corsair's management team, and none are planned. Corsair maintains that it's been largely profitable and reporting positive net incomes over the past 19 years it's been in business, and has no intention of getting itself sold. Corsair also stated that this investment by Francisco Partners could let it make other acquisitions, such as the recent Raptor Gaming one.

Corsair in Acquisition Talks with Blackstone Group Consortium Member

Even as Corsair is looking to raise $78 million through an initial public offering (IPO), with a share price of $13, the company is reportedly in talks with Francisco Partners, a tech startup-focused venture capital company, over its possible acquisition. Francisco Partners was part of the consortium, which was led by Blackstone Group, to acquire Dell. This came to light when CNN unearthed an regulatory filing (PDF). Another theory doing rounds states that Corsair and Francisco Partners could be exploring other options than a buyout. In 2011, Corsair reported a revenue of $455 million, with net income of $19 million. In Q1 2012, it reported $132 million revenue, with $3 million net income. Corsair specializes in a wide range of gaming- and enthusiast-PC hardware, and peripherals.

Origin PC Announces Corsair Obsidian 900D Special Edition Option

In addition to its latest flagship Obsidian 900D chassis, Corsair plans to launch a new premium micro-ATX gaming PC case this season, the Obsidian 350D (model: CC-9011029-WW). It posed for pictures at various retailers, and some of its press-shots were leaked to the web. Reportedly measuring 450 x 210 x 440 mm, the case will retain the solid matte steel construction with a brushed aluminium front, and a large side acrylic window. Its front-panel features two 5.25-inch drive bays, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, and HD audio jacks.

Internally, the Obsidian 350D doesn't feature any drive cages that can go on to obstruct long graphics cards. Instead, it features two 3.5-inch bays towards its bottom, and what appear to be three 2.5-inch bays towards the top portion, with a gap in between. Ventilation includes two 140 mm fan vents on the top, to which radiators can be latched on to (one 140 mm spinner included), and a rear 120 mm fan (included). The Obsidian 350D should be released some time towards late-April or early-May.
