Corsair Officially Launches Vengeance High-Performance DDR3 Memory

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the Vengeance series of high performance DDR3 memory modules for enthusiasts and system builders.

Vengeance memory modules use carefully selected RAMs to enable excellent overclocking results on current and future generation Intel and AMD platforms. All initial Vengeance memory modules have a low 1.5V supply voltage for maximum compatibility and for energy-efficient operation. Vengeance DDR3 memory kits are available in single, dual, or triple module kits, with sizes ranging from 4GB all the way up to 16GB. All Vengeance modules are equipped with aluminum heat spreaders for thermal performance as well as aggressive appearance.

Corsair Intros Vengeance Series of DDR3 Memory Kits

Corsair introduced a new line of PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600 MHz) memory kits based its latest memory module design, the Corsair Vengeance. The Vengeance modules make use standard height DIMM PCBs, making use of a 'light' heatsink that goes on to be slightly taller than the PCB. 'Light', because unlike the heatsinks on the Dominator modules, Vengeance's heatsink looks to consist of just thick metal plates of the heatspreader elongating into a few heatsink fins, much like G.Skill's RipJaws modules.

The Vengeance modules can operate at 1600 MHz speeds with DRAM voltage of 1.5V, with CL8 and CL9 timings available in the lineup. The modules come in densities of 2 GB and 4 GB, making up single-channel (single module), dual-channel, and triple-channel memory kits, in capacities of 4 GB (single module), 8 GB (2x 4 GB) dual-channel, 6 GB (3x 2 GB) triple-channel, and 12 GB (3x 4 GB) triple-channel.

A list of models follows.

Corsair Readies Hydro H70 CPU Water Cooler

Corsair is developing a new pre-assembled CPU water cooling kit after facing some market success with the Hydro H50. The new kit, called Hydro H70, features a more optimized coolant flow design, an improved CPU base made of copper, and a denser radiator. It makes use of two 120 mm fans on either sides of the radiator, pushing at 1,600 rpm, and pulling at 2,000 rpm. The design increases the cooler's TDP capacity, closer to elaborate water cooling loops, potentially increasing the processor's overclocking headroom. The Hydro H70 is compatible with all current CPU socket types, including LGA1366, LGA1156, AM3/AM2(+), and LGA775. UK-based online store Scan.co.uk has these up for pre-order at £65.70 (£77.20 incl. VAT). It is indicated that Corsair will officially release these next week.

Corsair Launches Single Rank Ultra-High-Speed DDR3 DIMMs, DDR3-2625 MHz Capable

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the launch of Dominator GT GTX6 DDR3 memory, an ultra-high-speed PC3-21000 single-rank 1GB DDR3 DIMM. These modules are among the fastest available in the world today, and are designed for CPU and memory benchmarking as well as for world record attempts.

The GTX6 is tested on the Gigabyte P55A-UD5 motherboard with BIOS Revision F10 at a clock speed of 2625 MHz. Specially selected Intel Core i7-860 and Core i7-870 CPUs are used to achieve these memory frequencies. While 2625 MHz is the test specification for a single module, we have found in the lab that speeds as high as 2600 MHz can typically be achieved when testing as a pair. For ultimate performance, using a CPU cooled using liquid nitrogen, we were able to hit 2976 MHz; see our blog for images and screen shots.
