Xigmatek Intros Scorpio Micro-ATX Case

Xigmatek today introduced the Scorpio tower-type micro-ATX case. The case appears to be a shrunk down version of the Prosper. Its main design elements are the see-through front and left side panels. While the front panel is made of tempered glass, the side panel is acrylic, with a reflective "mirror-like" finish. Although it looks otherwise in the pictures, there are no fans included with the case. You still get two 120 mm front intakes, two 120 mm "bottom" intakes positioned along the horizontal partition, and one each top and rear 120 mm exhausts.

The bottom compartment of the Xigmatek Scorpio, accessible from the right side, gives you access to the PSU bay and two 3.5-inch/2.5-inch drive bays. Two additional 2.5-inch drives can be mounted along the reverse side of the motherboard tray. The tray serves up room for graphics cards up to 33 cm in length, and CPU coolers up to 15.3 cm in height. Coarse dust filters line the PSU air intake, and the top exhaust. Front panel connectivity includes one each of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0/1.1 type-A ports, and HDA jacks. Available now, the Scorpio is priced at 30€.

ASUS Intros Tinker Fanless Aluminum Case

ASUS rolled out the Tinker Fanless Aluminium case, a custom-design case for the Tinker Board and Tinker Board S hobby-kits by ASUS that rival Raspberry Pi. The case is built from a block of aluminium with brushed-metal finish; which opens from one side (rear), held together by a single thumb-screw. It has cutouts for all of the Tinker Board's ports and connectors - four USB, an HDMI output, Ethernet, DC-in, two card slots, and slots for the optional WLAN module. The case has enough room to let you mount the SoC heatsink that's included with Tinker Boards. The case measures 90 mm x 67 mm x 36 mm (WxDxH).

Antec Introduces P7 Window & P7 Silent Mid-Tower Cases

ENERMAX Reveals OSTROG ADV RGB and SABERAY White Cases

ENERMAX revealed two brand new cases at Computex 2018. The Taiwan-based case manufacturer has given the OSTROG ADV case the RGB treatment. The OSTROG ADV RGB is a mid-tower case with dual tempered glass side panels. It comes with addressable RGB lighting strips with support for motherboard RGB-Sync. The case can house up to a 360 mm radiator and also has quick-release front and top panels for easy hardware installation. A USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port is also part of the case. The second case on display was a limited white edition of the company's SABERAY case. Following in the OSTROG ADV RGB's footsteps, the SABERAY White incorporates addressable RGB lighting strips. However, the SABERAY White does come with three pre-installed addressable T.B. RGB fans as well. The integrated hub lets users sync up to five RGB devices and control a total of six fans. Consumers algo get the option to can choose between an acrylic or mesh front panel.

MonsterLabo Presents 'The First' SFF PC Case at Computex 2018

MonsterLabo had their 'The First' small form factor case on display at the Seasonic booth. Measuring in at 200 x 200 x 400 mm, The First only weighs around 10 kg. It can house a mini-ITX motherboard, a graphics card with a length up to 270 mm, an ATX or SFX power supply, one 3.5-inch drive, and three 2.5-inch drives. The case features a high-performance and fanless cooling solution capable of dissipating up to 200 W of heat. The radiator is shared between the processor and graphics card. There is also a single fan mount for a 120 mm or 140 mm fan to increase the cooling capacity to 300 W. For connectivity, The First has two USB 3.0 ports on the front panel. Consumers can fully customize the front panel with different painted and patterned skins and other surfaces like glass, wood, copper or leather.

Phanteks Launches Sub-Brand MetallicGear

Phanteks has announced the MetallicGear sub-brand which focuses on creating contemporary, innovative, and accessible products for hardware enthusiasts. MetallicGear makes its debut at Computex 2018 with its new line of NEO Series cases. Currently, there are four models under the NEO family. The NEO is a standard mid-tower case made of an aluminum and steel chassis with a tempered glass side panel. This model supports motherboards up to the ATX factor, and it also comes with seven expansion slots. The NEO can house a single 240 mm or 280 mm radiator. The expected MSRP for the NEO is $99.99. The NEO Micro is the micro ATX variant of the family. Due to the reduced size, this model only comes with four expansion slots and support for a 240 mm radiator. The NEO Micro carries a $84.99 price tag.

The NEO Mini is the next model in line which targets mini-ITX users. This particular variant only has two expansions slots. Nevertheless, it has the same radiator support as the NEO. The NEO Mini costs around $69.99. And last, but certainly not least, MetallicGear also offers the NEO-G Mini, which is a slightly modified version of the NEO Mini. The differences reside in the front panel's design and the orientation of the motherboard. The NEO Mini features a conventional vertical orientation, while the NEO-G Mini's design allow the motherboard to sit horizontally on the case. The NEO-G Mini also comes with one extra expansion slot. The price for this model is $79.99.

Antec Project X Case Company's Computex Centerpiece

The centerpiece of Antec's Computex 2018 booth is the Project X (working title) case. This cyberpunk creation features several polygonal aluminium and tempered glass shards held together by thumbscrews on a steel frame, with room inside for a high-end liquid-cooled build for maximum exposure. The case sits tilted at a 20°-ish angle that makes the front-panel accessible, and exposes more of its design elements. Through the various deliberate gaps and cuts between the panels, you can put up quite a spectacular light show.

Thermaltake Unveils Level 20 XT and Level 20 VT Cases

The Level 20 was the centerpiece of Thermaltake's 2018 CES booth. The company is now expanding the Level 20 series, with two new siblings, the Level 20 XT and the Level 20 VT. Both cases are somewhat cubical, with their motherboard trays oriented along the plane of the base, rather than perpendicular to it. The Level 20 XT supports ATX motherboards, while the Level 20 VT is is designed for micro-ATX. Both cases feature tempered glass panels on all sides except the rear and bottom.

Inside, both cases feature a "T-shaped" partition, with the top compartment housing the motherboard tray, and the bottom two housing the drive cages and the PSU bays. Both include at least one 140 mm front intake fan with RGB LED lighting. The Level 20 XT has two such 140 mm intakes. It also gives you up to 9 drive bays. The Level 20 VT, on the other hand, has just the one 140 mm front intake intake, and six drive bays. Both cases feature modern front-panel connectivity.

BitFenix Fujin Case Spied

We broke into the Computex show-floor to grab some of the first pics of BitFenix Fujin, the company's upcoming mid-tower case. The case features a horizontally-partitioned layout, with the bottom compartment being almost entirely enclosed when accessed from the left side-panel, except for a small cutout toward the front (so you can have a thick and tall radiator lining the front-panel). The left side is covered by tempered glass panel. The case features mounts for up to two 360 mm x 120 mm or 280 mm x 140 mm radiators (one each along the front and top panels).

The front is characterized by a fine mesh, and an RGB LED diffuser along the top (near the front-panel connectivity). The RGB stips you see inside are just part of the demo build. BitFenix will include an RGB LED-lit 120 mm rear fan. Storage options include two each of 2.5-inch mounts, and 3.5-inch trays (which can hold 2.5-inch drives). There is a generous 20-25 mm crawlspace behind the motherboard tray, so let you wrestle with your cables. When it hits the shelves, this case will be priced around 69€ or $79.

Corsair Intros Carbide SPEC-05 Mid-tower Case

Corsair expanded its Carbide SPEC line of entry-level cases with the new SPEC-05. This ATX mid-tower case is characterized by a clever design gimmick - the left side panel looks like it's tempered glass because it covers almost the entire area of the panel, but is actually clear acrylic. The front features a somewhat curvy design with a gash that runs through the middle, revealing the front intake vent with its illuminated 120 mm intake fan.
