Gainward Readies GeForce GTX 580 Phantom 3 GB Graphics Card

Last month, Gainward introduced its GeForce GTX 570 Phantom, which won quite some appreciation among readers for its radical design. The company decided to extend it to the GeForce GTX 580, too, since it's based on the same GF110 silicon. The only major change is that 2 Gbit memory chips are used, yielding a total memory of 3072 MB (3 GB). The memory is spread across 12 2 Gbit memory chips across a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface. Clock speeds stick to NVIDIA reference: 783/1566/4020 MHz (core/CUDA cores/memory effective). The GTX 580 packs 512 CUDA cores.

The cooler makes use of a black aluminum fin array, to which heat is fed by six heat pipes. Instead of fans on its obverse side blowing air onto the PCB, there are three fans on its reverse side, drawing air from the aluminum fin array, and onto the PCB. The result is a better-looking product. Display outputs include two DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort. Gainward will release its 3 GB GTX 580 Phantom graphics card soon, at a premium over the reference design.

EVGA Displays Non-Reference Dual-GPU and GTX 570 Graphics Cards

Graphics card vendors seldom display their products based on unannounced GPUs in trade shows, unlike motherboard vendors. That said, a certain new graphics card by EVGA is making waves at CES 2011. The double-slot, long graphics card presumably uses two GF110 GPUs to make a SLI on a stick solution. There are two possibilities about the configuration of the two GPUs looking at the eight 1 Gbit memory chips (four per GPU area) on the reverse side of the card: First being 1 GB per GPU over 256-bit memory interface; and second being 12 memory chips on the other side, amounting for 1280 MB per GPU memory over 320-bit memory interface for a core config identical to that of the GeForce GTX 570.

EVGA treaded carefully as to project the card as one of its own design, which does not conform to any future unannounced NVIDIA dual-GPU SKU. For this reason, EVGA designed its own triple-fan cooler which has fans nested inside the shroud, using a large aluminum heatsink. EVGA used the same styling on a smaller graphics card with two fans. The smaller card is EVGA's non-reference design GeForce GTX 570. It uses a more compact PCB than that of NVIDIA, and provides better display connectivity in the form of full-size HDMI and DP, alongside two DVI connectors.

Display connectivity is similar to some AMD Radeon graphics cards: two DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort. Pricing and availability is not known.

Gigabyte Rolls Out Overclocked GeForce GTX 570 Graphics Card

Gigabyte graced NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 570 launch with a reference design graphics card model. Carrying the model number GV-N580D5-15I-B, Gigabyte's card features factory-overclocked speeds of 772 MHz (core), 1544 MHz (CUDA cores), and 1002/4008 MHz (memory/GDDR5 effective), against reference clock speeds of 732/1464/3800 MHz. Based on the 40 nm GF110 GPU, the GeForce GTX 570 features 480 CUDA cores, and connects to 1280 MB of memory over a 320-bit GDDR5 memory interface Gigabyte's GV-N580D5-15I-B is priced at US $359.99.

GeForce GTX 570 Pricing Surfaces

British retailer YoYo Tech, which claims to be "famously first for Fermi", started giving out the pricing of NVIDIA's upcoming enthusiast graphics card, the GeForce GTX 570. The card, according to this retailer, is priced at £299 (GBP), including 17.5% VAT, that's £246.6 excluding it. Direct conversion to USD would yield $384. Based on this, we can garner a guess that the US pricing could be somewhere between US $350 and $400. Inno3D iChill Black Edition GeForce GTX 580 Graphics Card Pictured

Inno3D is ready with a new high-end graphics card based on NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 580 graphics processor, which comes with a factory-fitted water cooling system. Dubbed the iChill Black Series GTX 580, the card makes use of a pre-fitted water-cooling loop consisting of a full-coverage water block, and tubing leading up to a pump/reservoir/radiator unit that uses one 120 mm fan. GeForce GTX 570 Specifications, Release Date Leaked

On a day when a lot of other geopolitical things are being leaked, our friends from Sweden found the specifications sheet of NVIDIA's new upcoming high-end graphics accelerator, the GeForce GTX 570. The GTX 570 will be a deputy to the company's recently-release GeForce GTX 580, it is based on the GF110 graphics processor, with 480 CUDA cores enabled, and a 320-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface holding 1280 MB of memory. NVIDIA stunned the computing world with a speedy launch of the GeForce GTX 580. Here's perhaps the first picture of an NVIDIA partner-branded GeForce GTX 580 graphics card, this one coming from Inno3D. The GeForce GTX 580 is based on NVIDIA's new GF110 graphics processor, in which the company claims to have refined the GPU design from previous generation GF100 many fold, increasing performance and performance per Watt. Here are the first pictures of what is touted to be the GeForce GTX 580 reference design graphics card by NVIDIA, by sections of the Chinese media. There are some interesting inferences that can be drawn just by the looks of the card. To begin with the cooler bears an uncanny resemblance to one of the earliest design iterations of the GeForce GTX 480 (pictured here and here). In its final iteration, NVIDIA gave the GTX 480 a more massive cooler, perhaps to keep up with its finalized clock speeds. If the design of the GTX 580 cooler is anything to go by, it means that either NVIDIA refined the GF100 architecture in the GF110 (on which GTX 580 is based) a great deal, increasing performance per Watt; or that since GTX 580 is in its development stage, its final version could look different. GeForce GTX 580 is being designed as a counter to AMD's Radeon HD 6900 series single-GPU graphics cards that are based on the new Cayman graphics core, which is slated for release in late November. It is expected to be 20% faster than the GTX 480.

NVIDIA's next enthusiast-grade graphics processor, the GeForce GTX 580, based on the new GF110 silicon, is poised for at least a paper-launch by end of November, or early December, 2010. Sources in the video card industry told DigiTimes that the GTX 580 is expected to be 20% faster than the existing GeForce GTX 480. The new GPU is built on the existing 40 nm process, NVIDIA's 28 nm GPUs based on the Kepler architecture are expected to take shape only towards the end of 2011. Later this week, AMD is launching the Radeon HD 6800 series performance graphics cards, and will market-launch its next high-end GPU, codenamed "Cayman" in November.
