One might wonder how prolonged use of notebooks could effect on the upper thigh of the human. It can give first degree burns. Therefore, using laptop until it heats up would not only result in severe health disorder but can also damage the laptop in general. The tiny wirings and connections on the boards within the laptop are also sensitive to changes in temperature. Using the laptop for a long time after it is already heat up can cause these wirings and connections to melt could lead to the malfunctioning of the laptop.

GlacialTech Intros the Siberia Performance CPU Cooler

GlacialTech introduced its Siberia performance CPU cooler. The cooler makes use of two fans to push/pull air through a dense aluminum fin array that propagates along the plane of the motherboard, to which heat is conveyed by six heat pipes. The heat pipes make direct contact to the processor at the base, which doubles up as a small heatsink.

Air is pushed on to the fins by a 140 mm fan that spins at 800~1400 rpm, while is pushed out of the fin array by a 92 mm fan that spins at 1300 rpm. The gross dimensions of the cooler are 146 (W) x 150 (L) x 120 (H) mm, it weighs 620 g. A tube of IceTherm II thermal compound is bundled. The cooler will reach stores later this month, one can expect it to be moderately priced.

GlacialTech Introduces the Igloo Alaska Performance CPU Cooler

GlacialTech Inc., a diverse provider of cooling, power supply, PC enclosure solutions for consumers and industrial applications, a world-class provider of cost effective cooling components and chassis, launches the latest fantastic cooling solution- Alaska.

Glacialtech Readies Igloo 5751 PWM CPU Cooler

Glacialtech, known more for its OEM-replacement and value-ended CPU coolers, sometimes takes the time off to release audaciously-designed performance CPU coolers, such as the UFO V51. It seems to be the case with the Igloo 5751 PWM, the latest in the making. The Igloo 5751 PWM uses a CPU base in which four 6 mm thick heat pipes make direct contact with the CPU, capped with an aluminum heatsink, with the heat pipes conveying heat to an aluminum fin array that propagates along the plane of the motherboard, covered with metal plates on four sides, and two 92 mm fans on two.

It measures 100 (W) x 135 (L) x 130 (H) mm, weighing 550 g. The fan on the top spins at 1400 rpm, while the one on the bottom spins at speeds between 800 and 1800 rpm, controllable by PWM. The Igloo 5751 PWM supports all current CPU sockets, including LGA1366, LGA1156, AM3/2(+), and LGA775. A tube of Glacialtech IceTtherm II thermal compound comes bundled. The company did not give out a price, though one can expect it to be moderately priced.

The cooler measures 143 x 86 x 148 mm (L x W x H), and weighs 750 g (~1.66 lbs). It comes in two variants - F101 Silent and F101 PWM - depending on the kind of fan bundled. The former packs a 1100 ±200 rpm fan that pushes about 40 CFM of air with a noise output of 21 dBA, while the latter packs a more powerful 800~1700 rpm PWM-controlled fan, that depending on its speed, can push up to 70 CFM of air being as loud as 32 dBA. Both carry a tube of IceTherm thermal compound. As mentioned before, it supports all current CPU sockets including LGA-1366, LGA-1156, LGA-775, AM3, and AM2(+). Pricing is not known, though expect fairly acceptable prices.

Glacialtech Presents New CPU Coolers and HTPC Cases

There are a few new CPU coolers on display at the Glacialtech booth here at Computex. The first is the F101, which comes with a 120 mm fan.
