HarmonicDyne Poseidon— A Beryllium-Killer Headphone is Launched on Kickstarter

Continued with the success of the HarmonicDyne Zeus flagship headphone, the Poseidon is developed and released based on the request of the audiophile community. It's a premium-grade headphone designed for the most discerning audiophiles. The Poseidon is among the first headphones to use an innovative pure nickel diaphragm. Compared with beryllium, pure nickel is four times in density and two times in tensile strength. A diaphragm driver made of purified nickel is much stiffer and more responsive, delivering a clearer sound with lower distortions. Combined with the open-back design, the Poseidon delivers a frequency response of 10 Hz to 40 kHz, allowing listeners to feel the incredible connection and transparency with the music.

What's more, a premium grade of solid maple wood is utilized to construct the housing cavity for the drivers. As a frequent choice of wood for making professional musical instruments, maple perfectly matches the new nickel diaphragm drivers because of its high responsiveness and acoustic projection. The solid maple housing allows emphasis of fundamental frequencies and quick decays, making for incredible note separation and clarity. On top of that, the sophisticated maple wood bespoke design casts a glamour over the headphone, making the Poseidon look as beautiful as it sounds.

ASUS Unveils the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Poseidon Graphics Card

ASUS at a media event, unveiled its latest GeForce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Poseidon graphics card. The company's pioneering Poseidon series graphics cards are characterized by air+liquid hybrid cooling solutions that both work as conventional air-cooled graphics cards, or can be plumbed to a liquid-cooling loop to vastly improve cooling performance. With the GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon, ASUS innovated a new DirectCU H2O technology that passes a copper coolant tube directly over the cooler's base, besides a copper base-plate, which conveys heat to an aluminium fin-stack. The air-cooling component of the ASUS GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon features a dense aluminium fin-stack heatsink ventilated by a pair of IP5X-Certified fans. The company did not reveal clock-speeds, pricing, or availability information.

ASUS Announces GeForce GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum Graphics Card

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced Poseidon GTX 980 Ti, a super-cool new graphics card with an exclusive hybrid thermal solution that enables extremely efficient cooling by either water or air, and ASUS Auto-Extreme technology with Super Alloy Power II components for premium quality and reliability.

Powered by the latest GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics-processing unit (GPU), ROG Poseidon GTX 980 Ti features GPU boost clock speeds of up to 1203 MHz in gaming mode and 1228 MHz in OC mode. It is packed with exclusive ASUS technologies, including DirectCU H2O cooling technology with dual dust-proof fans to deliver 2X (30°C) cooler performance with water cooling and 10% (5°C) cooler performance with air cooling.

ASUS Showcases Three Premium GTX 980 Ti Offerings

ASUS showcased three of its premium GeForce GTX 980 Ti based graphics card offerings, apart from the GTX 980 Ti STRIX that's already in the market. These include the Republic of Gamers (ROG) branded GTX 980 Ti MATRIX, its ASUS 20th Anniversary commemorative Gold Edition variant with slightly higher clocks; and the liquid-cooling ready air-cooled GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum.

The GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum features a dual-fan air-cooling solution that combines a liquid-cooling channel, letting you improve its cooling performance. This card features the shortest PCB among all of ASUS' GTX 980 Ti offerings. Next up, is the GTX 980 Ti MATRIX. This Bonafide ROG-branded product, with its matte red+black color-scheme, a meatier dual-fan DirectCU II cooler than the one featured on the STRIX, a stronger VRM, and the ROG badging, should make it appeal to the ROG (premium gamer-overclocker) crowd. Expect this card to ship with a >20% factory OC. A slightly faster, limited-edition variant of this card, with its gold cooler shroud, will also be available. The three cards should be launched over the next few weeks.

ASUS Announces GeForce GTX 980 Poseidon Platinum Graphics Card

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced Poseidon GTX 980 with DirectCU H2O, a new graphics card with an exclusive hybrid thermal solution that enables extremely efficient cooling by either air or water.

The new card is powered by the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 graphics-processing unit (GPU). With DirectCU H2O on board offering users the unique ability to cool either by air or water, ROG Poseidon GTX 980 achieves running temperatures that are up to 27°C lower than reference designs - that's up to 2X cooler for gaming performance that's up to 10% faster in Watch Dogs and 7% faster in Battlefield 4.

ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Poseidon Pictured

ASUS is giving final touches to its flagship GeForce GTX 980 graphics card, the GTX 980 Poseidon (model: POSEIDON-GTX980-P-4GD5). This factory-overclocked card keeps up with the design goals of its predecessor, the GTX 780 Poseidon, in offering an air-cooled graphics card that you can also liquid-cool, by simply plumbing it to your liquid cooling loop, without changing the cooler.

The cooler features a hybrid block base that dissipates heat to both the heat pipes that push it on to the heatsink, and the coolant channel. As a purely air-cooled card, the GTX 980 Poseidon features a meaty aluminium fin-stack heatsink that looks as competent as the GTX 980 Strix. Liquid cooling fittings stick out from its top. The card is factory-overclocked, offering clock speeds of 1178 MHz core, 1279 MHz GPU Boost, and 7.00 GHz memory. The card draws power from a pair of 6-pin PCIe power connectors, display outputs include three DisplayPort 1.2, and one each of HDMI 2.0 and dual-link DVI. The card is expected to launch some time in December.

Colorful Shows off GTX 780 Ti iGame Kudan

Here's the first fruition of the association between Colorful and its newfound distribution partner, Chaintech. The GeForce GTX 780 Ti iGame Kudan takes hybrid cooling to the next level. It features a cooling solution that's similar in principle to that of ASUS GTX 780 Poseidon; but differs in that the liquid cooling covers not just the GPU, but also the memory and VRM. In the absence of liquid cooling, heat drawn from heat pipes passing through the base convey heat to its aluminium fin-stack heatsink, where it's ventilated by three 80 mm spinners. The liquid and air-cooling components draw heat from the GPU through a vacuum chamber plate.

ASUS ROG Announces Poseidon GTX 780 Graphics Card

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced Poseidon GTX 780 with DirectCU H2O, a new graphics card with an exclusive hybrid thermal solution that enables extremely efficient cooling by either air or water.

The new card is powered by the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 GPU (graphics-processing unit). With DirectCU H2O on board offering users the unique ability to cool either by air or water, ROG Poseidon GTX 780 achieves running temperatures that are up to 24°C lower than reference designs - that's up to 140% cooler for gaming performance that's up to 12% faster in both Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and BattleField 4.
