Razer Tiamat Shipping Today, Stocks Limited

Razer finally put an end to the six month saga of availability Tiamat series gaming headsets. CEO Min-Liang Tan tweeted that the headset has started shipping worldwide today, and that stocks are limited, but that Razer is working hard to make them in sizable quantities. Announced in August 2011, availability of the Tiamat series of "true 7.1 channel" surround gaming headsets was slated for December, but was faced with delays, first to late-January, then to February.

Razer Tiamat 7.1 Headset Launch Delayed, Again

Market release of Razer's Tiamat 7.1 channel gaming headset has been delayed yet again. Originally slated for Q4 2011, Tiamat has been a troubled product launch for the otherwise consistent Razer. In December, Razer apologetically announced that they were facing development setbacks and had to delay market launch till end of January, 2012. Well, we're now at the fag-end of the month, with no Tiamat launch, yet. Instead what we got is another announcement by Razer, saying that the product launch is further delayed to some time in February, 2012.

Razer Blade Delayed to 2012, Pre-Orders Get Free Razer Orochi Black Edition Mouse

Razer delayed the market release of its much touted Blade 17-inch gaming notebook. Originally slated for Q4 2011, it will now only ship sometime in Q1 2012. This delay is caused due to a last-minute specifications change, of using a 256 GB solid-state drive instead of a 320 GB hard disk drive (original specs). To those looking forward to buying it, Razer apologized for the delay, but to those who already placed orders (pre-orders) for the Blade, Razer announced that it's giving away coupons for a free Razer Orochi Black Edition gaming mouse that will ship with their Blades. Earlier this week, Razer announced a delay in shipments of its Tiamat 7.1 channel gaming headset.

Razer's Tiamat Gaming Headset Delayed, to Ship in Late January

Bad news for gamers hoping to find a Tiamat 7.1 or Tiamat 2.2 headset under the Christmas tree (or simply on their desk), Razer has delayed the arrival of both products to polish them up some more. Both Tiamat headsets were supposed to be available during this last quarter of 2011 but now they are expected to ship at the end of January.

"Rest assured this product is coming out soon, but as we get ready to ship, we are also putting final touches to perfect this headset. We want to be sure that what you get is going to blow your ears away, no holds barred, and unfortunately like all Razer products, it's ready when it's ready," says a message from Team Razer.

Razer apologized for this delay and is trying to make up for it by offering a free Razer T-shirt and Razer flask (worth $40) to all customers who add their names to the Notify Me list at the Tiamat minisite. As a reminder, the Tiamat 7.1, with its 10 built-in drivers, costs $179.99 / EU €179.99 while the Tiamat 2.2, which has 'just' four drivers, is priced at $99.99 / EU €99.99.
