BIOS Overview
It's good to see most manufacturers improving their EFI's this time around and ASUS has some impressive additions that makes its latest EFI stand out from the crowd. The EZ Mode page is where you'll start and this hasn't changed much, which is maybe a good thing as it's where you can apply/enable settings such as EXPO, configure the boot order and use direct links to fan control as well as showing you the RPM of currently connected fans. However, it's with Q-Dashboard that things get more spicy as this provides a real time overview of connected devices and lists all the important ports. The great thing here, though, is that clicking on these items, whether they're fan headers or M.2 ports, will take you to the appropriate section in the EFI, which is pretty useful.
ASUS also includes guides for various options such as AI overclocking. It would be great if other manufacturers did this and for more features too as it makes them much more accessible. The AI Tweaker section will be very familiar to previous owners of ASUS motherboards, which is one place where you'll find the Precision Boost Overdrive plus Curve Optimizer and Shaper controls. The Q-Fan control section is arguably the best fan control suite of any manufacturer, with complete access to all the necessary controls to create your own fan curves such as switching between temperature inputs, including the thermistor inputs on this board, plus we really love the ability to drag the fan curve down to a fixed RPM for all input points in a single movement. With other manufacturers you have to drag every fan curve point down manually which just takes longer.
