The Pure Base 600 looks very much like a be quiet! chassis. With straight lines and a straight front with angled edges, the design speaks the same language as all the other cases from the brand. It is, however, much simpler and lacks a door, for example, which every other be quiet! enclosure to date comes with. This is not a bad thing because the Pure Base 600 is geared towards purists - as the name suggests.

The front panel is made of plastic, but has a brushed surface to mimic that of aluminum. In the rear, everything is where you would expect it to be. You may notice that there are no unnecessary or dated openings - clean and functional is the main goal for the Pure Base 600.

The glass side panel of the window edition replaces the steel variant completely. It is held in place by four thumbscrews, and the panel itself sits on rubber rings. It is slightly tinted, but you can still clearly see what is inside. The opposite panel is completely solid.

Taking a closer look at the front, the bottom holds nothing but the be quiet! logo, while the top half is filled with two 5.25" drive bays. The covers fit quite snugly, which adds to the quality feel of the Pure Base 600. The I/O consists of the usual buttons, audio I/O, and two USB 3.0 ports, but you also get a 3-stage fan controller, which is a nice touch on a chassis of this price point.

The PSU bay is in the bottom of the rear and comes with two sets of mounting holes, so you may pick which way you want to place your PSU. Above that are the seven expansion slots, each of which is protected by reusable metal covers. You will find a 120 mm retail-grade Pure Wings 2 fan in the very top, set to push air out the back of the chassis.

The ceiling comes covered with a plastic panel should you opt not to place any cooling units there. You may also raise it slightly for a compromise between airflow and noise reduction. You may even remove this piece completely to reveal the entire opening. The ceiling may hold two 140 mm or three 120 mm fans. Thanks to the offset mounting holes, radiators of up to 280 and 360 mm in size will fit without interfering with any mainboard components.
