I have mixed feelings on the freezone from CoolIT - The whole time I was reviewing it, my views on the Freezone were changing. Its performance at times was phenomenal, but at other test settings, it didn't blow me away. Even though the cooler outperformed every cooler I have, every single time - with the exception of running on silent; if you take into account its massive price tag, and how loud it can be, it doesn't amaze me. When I went to CoolIT's website, and saw the Freezone listed for 400USD, and all the little snid-bits of reviews on the right hand side, I was sure I would be able to keep my system in the mid to high 30s on full load with a high overclock - That simply didn't happen. I also find that their statement of "Eliminates Noise" is not very true unless you run the cooler on silent, and then the statement of "Extreme CPU Cooling" doesn't fit.
On the other side of things however, it still did outperform all my other coolers. The quality of the unit is superb (besides the little mishap with the standoffs), the idea of the unit is unique, and it is so simple to install. The cooler would have scored higher if the price wasn't so high and the fact that a part broke on me during testing. I strongly believe with a couple of slight modifications, such as an added/bigger reservoir, that this unit could be the best end-user cooler out there. Thumbs up to CoolIT for such a great designed, and innovative cooler.
