Value and Conclusion

  • The 32 GB (2x 16 GB) Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory 3200 MHz kit is available for around US$159.99.
  • Excellent overclocking
  • Stealthy aesthetic
  • Great attention to detail
  • No RGB on tested configuration
The Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory is stylish in a stealthy fashion that will appeal to those enthusiasts who shun the ostentatious trends that are popular in high performance memory kits. The build quality is absolutely excellent, with a seamless powder-coated black finish. The lack of RGB LEDs can be a pro or a con depending on who you ask, but despite the fact that I am usually in favor of customizable lighting, I did not miss it on this kit.

The Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory performed well in testing, especially on the AMD test bed. For overclocking, the Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory proved to have a fair margin of overclocking headroom, reaching 3733 MHz stable with my ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 7 and Intel Core i9-9900K combo. That's a good result, but my Ryzen testing proved to be even better. The Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory achieved 3800 MHz with the stock XMP timings on my MSI MEG X570 ACE paired with a Ryzen 5 3600X. Testing at 3600 MHz, I was also able to dial in the timings significantly.

The tested spec of Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory comes in at around US$159.99. At first glance, this kit may not seem like a great deal. When you consider the serious overclocking potential, especially for Ryzen systems, the Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory is easy to recommend. This is a great kit for those not afraid to dig in and do some manual tuning.
