There are currently a few models in Crucial's "Sport" line-up, with the basic "Sport" models just having a black PCB and gray heatspreader, while the Ballistix Sport LT models have a larger heatspreader and gray or white heatspreaders. Red Crucial Ballistix Sport LT models will be available soon if you can't find them at your local retailer already. This is a fairly big change by Crucial in how they esthetically design their DIMMs in my books; they truly seem to want to make sure your rig not only performs well, but looks good too.
Today, I have with me the white Ballistix Sport LT sticks, and other than their good looks, getting the chance to play with Micron's newer ICs always has me interested. With a total capacity of 32 GB spread between two sticks with the kit I have here, this kit isn't like others with Micron ICs I've had recently. 16 GB per stick might pose some interesting performance characteristics. Larger-capacity sticks tend to take a slight hit in the latency department, but after having used these sticks for a few weeks now in my daily system, I do not have anything negative to say about them, that's for sure.
