Installation
To install the FSP Windale 6, start by positioning the backplate on the motherboard with the four backplate screws slotted into place. Now, use the black plastic pillars to secure the backplate to the board. Once that is done, secure the mounting arms to the pillars.
It is now time to apply a bit of thermal compound and place the heatsink on the CPU. Using the crossbar and two screws, secure the heatsink to the motherboard.
Finally, attach the fan to the heatsink and plug it into the CPU fan header. At this point, you can also trim the rubber fan mounts for a cleaner look.
The mounting hardware included with the FSP cooler is relatively straightforward. In terms of difficulty, I would rate its installation an 8 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). Getting the fan perfectly placed with the rubber mounts is not difficult, but it is a bit fiddly and will be even more so if you are mounting the cooler in a system that's already inside a case.
