The Achilles is another chair with a bucket seat design, though its rich feature set is impressive for its price tag. It is available in five different color combinations: red, yellow, blue, white, and black, which is the color of our sample. Other than the typical ergonomic features present in nearly all gaming chairs, the Achilles has RGB stripes on the rear of its backrest and an embedded footrest, which I now want every gaming chair to also include.
Nothing is perfect in this life, however, so there are some things Gamdias could do to improve the Achilles. In my opinion, it should include a power bank in its design instead of requiring a USB connection with a power bank or a PC for the LED lighting. The control of the latter could be done through simple switches since there are only ten different lighting patterns, which makes it quite easy to cycle through all of them. Even a plain remote control would be nice or, even better, the chair's lighting could be configured through a smart device via a Bluetooth connection. It would also be nice if there were more RGB stripes where someone could actually see them while sitting in this chair; on the sides of the armrests, for example.
The build quality is good. However, a higher-grade material instead of vinyl imitating leather for the chair's upholstery would be nice. This would probably increase the price, but I am sure many users would appreciate it so long as the price bump does not turn out to be too high. The material for the upholstery definitely has a huge impact on this chair's longevity, but how it is used will play a great role in terms of its durability as well.
I expect to see more from Gamdias since the Achilles, the first gaming chair I reviewed from the company, left a good overall impression. There was an element of surprise, which is always thrilling, and the footrest is the killer feature that makes this chair unique. For its asking price, the Achilles is really good, and you should give it a try if you get the chance.
