Packaging

When I got home to find a delivery from GIGABYTE, I was surprised by the size of the box used to ship the unit in. Once I opened it up, I found the very nicely packaged 3D Galaxy II water system. GIGABYTE did a wonderful job on packaging the unit when it comes to box design and the physical packing. The box however, has some very good paper cutting potential. First thing I did was slice about a inch of my thumb open on it...


Everything is well laid out and protected in the box. The first layer is the main components of the system; That being the pump/reservoir, water block, radiator, fan, and the coolant.
Once you pull out the Styrofoam that holds all those goods in place, you'll find the rest of the gear needed for the system. There is everything from tubing, screws, clamps, and wiring.


Here's GIGABYTE's very inclusive manual. It explains the installation of the unit step by step in good detail. Every step is pictured as well as captioned to help insure no improper installations. The manual is also in various languages for a broad range of customers.

GIGABYTE also includes a quick reference booklet. It leaves a fair amount of steps out/condenses the steps of the installation. But if you know what you're doing, you could easily get by with it.


Like all cooler kits, some thermal paste is included for the installation of the unit. Also, GIGABYTE added eight Aluminum VGA heatsinks. They may help a little bit for overclocking the memory on your video card if it has bare memory chips and you can apply the sinks.


Two bags of mounting parts and wiring come to install the 3D Galaxy II cooler. Included are mounts for LGA775 applications and the Socket 939/AM2 retention clip. An 'L' shaped bracket is used to mount the radiator which we'll show later on. In the second bag, there are hose clamps, the heatsinks and thermal paste, some Velcro to secure the pump unit, and lots of wiring plus a fan controller.
