Value and Conclusion

  • The HK Gaming Mira-M is available for $49.99.
  • Great sensor performance
  • Very low click latency
  • Very high button quality
  • Good scroll wheel
  • Good choice of components
  • Flexible cable
  • Very good mouse feet
  • Grippy coating
  • Full software customizability
  • Basic RGB lighting
  • Set of replacement mouse feet included
  • Set of grip tape included
  • Depending on one's preference, scrolling may be too light
Apart from the actual shell, the HK Gaming Mira-M is virtually identical to the Mira-S. Same PCB, same components, same cable, same mouse feet, same software, same performance. Even the weight ends up being almost the same (63 g), although the Mira-M is a good bit larger. That's hardly a bad thing, though, as the Mira-S did exceptionally well in our review. Unfortunately, the Mira-M also has the same flawed scroll wheel. While the scrolling itself is fine, the individual steps lack separation, which can lead to inadvertent scrolling instead of clicking and may feel oddly out of place if used to more pronounced steps, as found in Zowie mice, for example. Build quality is very solid, too—the only flaw I could find was some minor creaking and flex on the left side, which may be subject to sample variation and due to the fact that I was using a pre-production sample.

While I liked the shape of the Mira-S, the huge hump wasn't entirely to my liking. The Mira-M, on the other hand, is right up my alley. Essentially, the shape of the Mira-M is a variation of the Logitech G Pro Wireless, albeit a little less bulky and, more importantly, way better to grip because of the honeycomb structure. Those who always wanted to try the Pro Wireless shape, but didn't want to shell out $150 can do so now by getting the Mira-M at just a third of the asking price of the Pro Wireless and with flawless wired performance. Value for money is truly excellent here, especially considering HK Gaming threw in a set of replacement mouse feet and a set of grip tape as well.

Looking at the competition, the HK Gaming Mira-M does really well. The closest thing in terms of shape is the SPC Gear LIX+, which offers comparable performance at a slightly lower price point of $44.99. The same goes for the Glorious Model O- and O, which are either smaller or bigger than the Mira-M, while costing and performing the same at $49.99. And of course, there's the Logitech G Pro Wireless, which has the same shape, excellent wireless performance, and three times the asking price at $149.99.

All in all, the HK Gaming Mira-M was a joy to use and rightly deserves an Editor's Choice and the Budget award.
