Overclocking and Temperatures
Overclocking was done on our ASUS P55 board which does not support changing settings for the IGP of Clarkdale, but even so Core i5 661 managed a respectable overclock of 4.46 GHz with 1.36 V core voltage. Intel's new 32 nm process node brings some improvement when overclocking, but I suspect that the IGP had some part in limiting overclocking potential, so this part of review will be revised when some high quality H55/H57 board is acquired. Overclocking was done with a Scythe Katana III set to Turbo profile in the BIOS. Below you can review Core i5 661 performance using overclocked settings.
