LEPA G700-MA 700 W Review

A Look Inside »

Packaging

The package looks rather strange with the weird combination of the black background and the vivid yellow color. On the front we find a photo of the unit along with the illustration of a leopard. The Gold efficiency badge is small and resides in the top left corner. On the rear side there is detailed info about the features and characteristics of the PSU including a pyramid explaining the most crucial aspects of the unit. This pyramid also informs us that the 139mm fan used in this PSU has a patented design with the last word misspelled (desigh)!

The unit is protected only by a plastic wrap, inside the packaging. With its high price we would like to see a cloth bag and some packing foam used. The modular cables are stored in a smaller box and the rest of the bundle includes an AC power cord, a user's manual and a set of fixing bolts. Unfortunately no zip or cable ties are included.

Exterior

The gold coloured fan is eye catchy and looks really cool. Also the finish is very good but we didn't like the side decals so much, which look very simple and poorly designed. On the front the honeycomb grill design is utilized and there is an On/Off switch. On the rear the modular panel uses the classic Enermax sockets; the black ones are for the peripheral cables and the red for the PCIe/EPS. The native cables are few and fully sleeved back into the housing and on top of that there is a grommet around the cable exit hole, which is quite big and doesn't stress the cables. The power specifications label resides on the bottom of the unit.
