As far as 240 mm AIOs go, the Montech HyperFlow ARGB 240 proves to be a stellar performer. With the fans at max RPM, it manages to beat every other 240 mm AIO on the AM5 test platform and even outperforms a few 360 mm units. When limited to just 45 dBA of noise output, it still achieves respectable numbers. It does lose to the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240 by about 5°C, but to put this into perspective, it still beats out all other 240 mm liquid coolers. Furthermore, at the extreme end of our tests with a 225-watt load on the CPU, the only 240 mm coolers left in the fight are the HyperFlow ARGB 240 and the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240.
When looking at the Intel results at max RPM, Montech again offers stellar performance, with only the HYTE THICC Q60 beating it out, while all other coolers fall behind as the TDP increases. Once the coolers are limited to just 45 dBA, the HyperFlow ARGB 240 takes the lead and holds it with ease. In terms of pure performance per dollar, Montech hit it out of the park.
When it comes to build quality and ease of use, I have no serious complaints. The mounting hardware, while not optimal on AMD, is easy to work with and does the job just fine. Compared to Arctic's solution, it is a massive step-up in convenience. The overall design is visually appealing, aside from the strange Montech branding on the bottom right of the pump, which would have looked far better if the company had used their logo instead. While the extra features have now become mainstream, the use of daisy-chained fans is nice to see, and even if Montech use non-standard connectors, the included adapter/extension cable resolves that problem and doesn't force the use of an ARGB/fan hub. I am also happy to see that no extra software beyond what your motherboard comes with is required to control the ARGB lighting and fan control, which keeps software bloat to a minimum.
Unlike other more value-focused liquid coolers on the market, Montech offers a stellar six-year warranty, which further sets them apart. When you take the above into account, the overall value of the cooler is nearly unmatched. In many ways, less can be more, and Montech proves that point with the HyperFlow ARGB 240. No pump-mounted display, no unnecessary software, no ARGB/fan hub, no obnoxious branding. Keeping things simple, added useful features, fantastic performance. For a newer company that continues to grow, this is what I would consider a breakout product. So many of their competitors have forgotten what it means to offer a killer value product in this category and Montech has clearly taken note.
Overall, the Montech HyperFlow ARGB 240 is a fantastic all-in-one liquid cooler that delivers exceptional performance, good visual aesthetics, useful features, and a stellar warranty. Therefore, it's easily an editor's choice winner and is a liquid cooler I myself would actually buy for use in various builds.
